Such a great person lost too soon. Such a great student who was always eager to train and learn. He will truly be missed by those who knew him. My condolences to his family and friends. https://www.arbormemorial.ca//richard-rick-james-la/58587/
Kind on cute. A little rude but it does rhyme
A Black Belt. and quitting. Giving up and quitting karate is really easy. You suddenly decide that you can’t find the time anymore. There are more important t...hings to do. Work gets in the way. Other things get in the way. You have become bored. You’re not learning anything new. So quitting is your easy option. You find something different to do. Soccer, football, baseball, fitness, there are so many you can choose from. You start your new hobby with great intentions. You have a plan that you stick to and you are seeing results. Time passes and that feeling comes by once again. You’re bored. There’s no stimulation. You’re not getting anywhere. You’re not learning anything new. So you jump on board the train to another hobby station, only to find after time, it’s exactly the same. Once the feeling of something new wears away, you are back to the start again. Finding excuses not to go. Looking for something new. Quitting is easy. Most people blame the Instructor, or family or work commitments, or their relationship with other students, or that ‘the boss’ (their spouse) won’t let them train, or nagging injury or illness, not realizing that overcoming these problems is what makes the journey to becoming a black belt. Some give up when they get a black belt. Not realizing that this is also a test. Black belt means beginner, it only means that you’ve found the ladder to climb. ‘Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory’ describes them well. A black belt is an investment in a person. It is only a belt and a piece of paper. Wearing it is another thing. Many martial artists don’t realize they failed at that point. Taking responsibility for themselves, their own training, their own standards, their own progress, never blaming others for a setback, being strong enough to help others. THAT’s a black belt, this is karate. . . Inspired by Steve Rowe . . . #karate

So this was the first time I had the opportunity to do a women's self defense workshop and it came out very successful that I will be looking at doing more in the future. A big thank you to Roma from The MK Studio for hosting the event.
It is with a really sad heart that I have to announce the official closing of Tsuyoi Te Goju Ryu school. I would like to thank the people that help me live my dream for these few short years, and especially my students. It was never a disappointment teaching you. Thank you
Important notice: Due to some personal issues, the school is closed for the month of June. Please stay tuned for updates.
