We are remembering a little different this year, but it doesn't mean we appreciate the sacrifice and bravery of our veterans any less. I feel lucky everyday that my family members came home safely. For those that gave the ultimate sacrifice, it is important we show support to the family that is left behind. This year I have donated to the Canadian Heroes Fund that provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen soldiers. Please donate if you can. Lest We Forget. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/canadian-hero-fund/

Came across this amazing sentiment this morning. How true is this to our relationship with exercise, parenting, self-care and relationships in general.

Nordic Poles Are they right for you? Numerous studies indicate the wide ranging benefits of nordic walking poles. There are clear benefits for not only people with osteoarthritic changes of the knees and hips or neurological conditions, but for healthy individuals looking to get more out of their walks. Benefits of Nordic Walking Poles: Burns 25 46% more calories than regular walking Incorporates 90% of the muscles of the body Reduces stress by up to 30% on hip and knee Joints Improves posture and balance Provides benefits for those with diabetes and cardiorespiratory conditions Aids in falls prevention Improves ambulation for patients with PD and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) https://physiotherapy.ca//rep-13-nordic-pole-walking-made- Willson, J, et al.Effects of walking poles on lower extremity gait mechanics . Adhesive capsulitis, also known as frozen shoulder, is a common condition in which the range of motion of the shoulder becomes severely limited and painful. Women are more often affected compared to men and the recovery process can be long and frustrating. It has been found that acupuncture can be an effective treatment for frozen shoulder. In a study comparing a test group receiving acupuncture and a control group that was not, those that received acupuncture for frozen shou...lder had improvements in active and passive range of motion at 1.5 and 3 months from the onset of therapy. In addition, those in the acupuncture group had lower pain scores at the 3 month follow-up compared to the control group.
