Steveston Small Businesses! These nifty laminated window signs were mailed out to all businesses in Richmond-Steveston in February. If you didn’t get one or lost yours, please let me know and I’ll get one out to you!
I was so excited to announce with Minister Heyman that BC Parks budget will be increasing by $83 million over the next three years, combined capital and operating funding. British Columbians love visiting our awe inspiring natural areas. This funding will mean more campsites, improved and expanded trails, and maintenance of those facilities! https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2021ENV0027-000723

If your neighbour hasn’t cleared their sidewalk by 10am, please lend them a hand. We never know what someone is going through. Also, help out our hardworking posties and clear from the curb to your mailbox!
Happy Lunar New Year! May the coming year bring health, happiness and prosperity. I really enjoyed seeing all the decorations around the neighbourhood and hope ...we can do it again next year! I know it is so sad to stay apart at such an important time of the year, but thank you for doing what’s best to keep our community safe. (Video from 2019.)
Today is Moose Hide Day and it’s been wonderful to see so much support for this movement! The moose hide pin signifies commitment to end violence against women and children. Thanks to the men and boys who are standing up for a better future.
Holidays this year are going to look different. Our family has organized Zooms for Boxing Day for the cousins to show off their new treasures from Santa. However you celebrate the season, I hope you have a safe and joyous time. Merry Christmas! ...and I will be taking a social media break to focus on my family during the holidays. See you in the New Year!

Be safe! It’s going to be a different holiday season this year, but it’s important to keep our loved ones safe. Plan to stay in touch by phone, Zoom (or other platform), or old fashioned letter writing. Some ideas on connecting in different ways: https://www.cbc.ca//br/zoom-holiday-alternatives-1.5835808
I am so proud to live in such an amazing community. So many have stepped up to help in this extraordinary time of need. To all of the helpers, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Excited for more coastal cleanup projects - creating jobs, protecting our ocean, clearing marine debris from shorelines - with $9.5M for Clean Coast, Clean Waters Initiative. https://news.gov.bc.ca/23428
I know how hard it is to be apart during the holidays. At a time where we would normally come together, we need to stay physically apart. We need to protect our loved ones now, so we aren’t missing anyone when we celebrate in the future, when it is safe to do so. Please, don’t look for loopholes. Keep to your household or core bubble for the holidays. Some specific situations have been clarified here: https://globalnews.ca//faq-whats-allowed-during-the-holid/
