We employ a hands on approach to quality and safety and are COR (Certificate of Recognition Program) by the BC Construction Safety Alliance. All candidates: Have a vast knowledge of construction practices and operation of tools in order to work safely and efficiently follow direction from the Site Foreman. Experience in Concrete Form Work, Building Envelope, and Framing is preferred Work safely and efficiently under minimal supervision. Carpenters have a good understanding of the project and are able to anticipate and identify issues in work sequencing. Physically fit. Strong work ethic and valued team member. What’s in it for me? Our Tillicum Early Years project is pouring the slab today. The ground conditions of this site required geofoam (strong rigid insulation) to be installed under the slab to offset the weight of the building to minimize settlement over the life of the building. This project is creating much needed daycare spaces for our client, Saanich Neighbourhood Place Ryzuk Geotechnical worked with Iredale Architecture to make this all work. ... Framing starts tomorrow!

Saturday Spotlight: Superintendent, Kelly Fukushima. Kelly started with Knappett in 1990, he completed his carpentry apprenticeship with us and went on to become a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter. Kelly is passionate about all aspects of carpentry, excelling at framing, building envelope, concrete, finish carpentry, etc. He is currently the Superintendent on our Nanaimo Association for Community Living project, to be completed later this year.
