GOOD NEWS!! The Provincial Health Officer has eased restrictions, allowing dentists to resume non-essential services, pursuant to certain requirements, standards and guidelines as set out by the CDSBC, WorkSafeBC and BCCDC. Dr. Davis has been researching, doing webinars, continuing education, and tirelessly sourcing new equipment and supplies that will continue to keep our office at the forefront of technology and infection control going forward. We are proud and confident th...at Kootenay Life Dental will thrive in this new COVID world with safety, service, and excellence in the dental care we provide. If you are scheduled to visit our office after May 25th your appointment is still reserved for you there may be some small-time adjustments. If you are needing to reschedule a pre-booked appointment, please call or e-mail our office. We will call everyone whose appointment was missed in the last few months, but if you would like to be on our priority list to have an appointment ASAP, please contact the office. Just remember that we will stay home if we are feeling unwell and we ask you to please do the same.

Kootenay Life Dental wants to let our valued patients know that we are thinking about each of you and hope you are all safe and healthy during these uncertain times. The B.C Dental Association has made an announcement that states all dental offices in British Columbia will not be returning to regular practice Tuesday May 19th. Until further notice we are only to continue providing ... emergency urgent services. Currently, we are waiting for Dr. Bonnie Henry, WorkSafeBC and other health officials to give dental offices in British Columbia the green light. Please know that at Kootenay Life Dental we are working hard to appropriately set the office up to comply with physical distancing and following other requirements to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. For any dental emergency or if you have a dental concern please leave a message at 250 489 4731 or send us an e-mail [email protected] and Dr. Davis will be in contact with you. We cannot wait to see you all when it is safe to do so. STAY HEALTHY AND BE KIND

A message from Dr Rode and Dr Madeline Hi All. Please, I am asking your help stemming the surge of COVID 19 we will see in our community and hospital over the ...next weeks. If we do not make a conscious and direct effort to reduce the numbers of infections from this deadly virus our community will be hurt. Using national and international data we are predicting that a great number if Cranbrooks population would be / would have been infected by this virus by about May 10, 2020. Our hospital and health care workers will have great difficulty coping with these numbers. There are a few ways we, as a community, can reduce these predicted numbers. Most importantly: 1. Self isolate. 2. If you do leave your home please keep your 2 meter social contact distance. 3. Wash your hands with alcohol (> 70% isoptopyl) or soap/water for (at least) 20 seconds. Wipe your cell phone and car keys with alcohol if you have. These points cannot be stressed enough. Then 1. Only go outside / to town for the absolute essentials 2. When you do come home, get undressed (consider undressing in your garage), put your clothes in the washer, shower ASAP, put on fresh clothes. Do this every time you go outside, please. Being vigilant will not zero, but at least minimize, your and your familys chance of getting COVID. 3. Eat well, exercise (at home) and sleep enough - this will help your immune system. 4. Please avoid any non essential contact/visits/meetings with friends and family. 5. If at all possible work from home. 6. Please share these facts with everyone you can contact (phone/text/social media platforms) These relatively simple (and hopefully short term) measures may save a life. Voluntary self quarantine will reduce the doubling time (currently 4 days) of the virus, fewer people will get infected putting less strain on the hospital, health care workers, available beds and ventilators. Again these simple changes in our daily routines can make a massive difference in somebody elses life. Every one of us now needs to take responsibility to stop this virus. Commit yourself please. Best wishes Paul Rode Madeline Oosthuizen
