We as a community have been blessed to have Lois as a volunteer and mentor. She has been a huge part of campground, church, Rec Centre, Lodge, Credit Union, cemetery committees and more. Bless you Lois for your generous heart and community spirit!

Lights keep going up in our little village, and it is so good to see. We have been told that there is a Seniors tour bus coming through tomorrow night, December 17th, so please get those lights turned on early for all our seniors to enjoy! And take a drive through town too, and don't forget to cast your ballot for your favorite light display - most attractive display with creative use of color day & night. Ballots to go into the blue and silver ballot box in the porch of... the old arena of La Riviere & Community Recreation Centre. Let's give those judges a hand, because from what we see, this is not going to be an easy job. There are some pretty amazing displays. Way to go La Riviere residents! Final Judging on December 19th and 20th from 6-8pm. Bragging rights, a plaque and $100 prize courtesy of Westoba Credit Union-La Riviere Branch is on the line. La Riviere residents - We KNOW that Santa will be cruising the streets of La Riviere this coming Sunday afternoon. Yes, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13TH, 1:00PM!! With no snow for a sleigh, he has contacted our reliable fire chief, who will show him around town and a bit of the surrounding area. Watch for him, red truck, red suit...you can't miss him.. Tour time is 1:00pm. If you do spot him, remember Covid rules: keep your distance, wear a mask, and give Santa a big wave. Also, ch...eck your front doors or drive, there's a surprise for you! Since we could not have the community events we usually would this year, we have created a care package JUST FOR YOU to enjoy instead. These are definitely difficult times, and with that, difficult decisions must be made. With Covid-19 numbers climbing in Southern Health region, the decision has been made to cancel Hallowe'en Fun Day. We wish to remain responsible to our kids and our community, and to help keep everyone safe. Happy Hallowe'en everyone.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who lined up, stopped by and grabbed a bite this weekend. We sold out, met a lot of wonderful folks, and served 400 lbs of pickerel! Thank you to everyone for making our event so special and so successful. To those who were turned away, it is with sincere regret and our apologies. The turnout was absolutely overwhelming and unprecedented. We do thank you for your support nonetheless and appreciate your patience in the long line-up.... Thank you for understanding our situation as well and all your kind words. We are so grateful to everyone from near and far! Please know that you are all appreciated. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! To our volunteers inside and outside: you were an incredible machine! When one station got behind or needed an extra hand, everyone just moved up one position to assist. Enbridge's donation was gifted to La Riviere Raptor Festival, and they requested it remain in the community when the Festival was cancelled due to Covid-19. We are a blessed community!
