Lakeland Lacrosse Members, It is with extreme excitement and pride that we are able to announce our special news we've been keeping under wraps...... Lakeland Lacrosse will be hosting the 2021 Provincial Box Lacrosse Tournament July 8th - 11th, 2021!... We are honoured that we have been chosen to hold this prestigious event and given a chance to showcase all that the Lakeland has to offer, while flying our colours proudly. Not only will we be able show the province our great community of people, but we will also be able to bring some economic boost to the region. For those you have been to Provincials previously, you can only imagine the number of dedicated volunteers it may take to run this event smoothly. While we have a dedicated Board of Directors and some already seriously dedicated volunteers, we have established a Provincials Committee with the sole purpose of being dedicated to the success of this event. This is a big undertaking for our association but like everything else, many hands make light work. The Alberta Lacrosse Association provides a lot of support for this event, but we still need Lakeland based volunteers for the committee to ensure this is a success for all. The first meeting will be at the Cold Lake Energy Center, November 22nd. Other arrangements will be made if more restrictions on gatherings are put in place and we will institute online meetings for this committee as required. If you are interested in volunteering for this committee or have any questions, please contact Mike Groves (President - Lakeland Lacrosse) at [email protected]. Thank you for your support and we know you are just as excited as we are. GO HEAT!!

Greetings lacrosse families! Another AGM has come and gone. Our turnout was less than ideal, but this was far from unexpected given the times. We deeply appreciate our returning board members and are also excited to see some new ones welcomed in. Thank you to all who attended and have decided to join us in the upcoming year. We have several positions left to fill for the upcoming box lacrosse season and will share these before our next meeting in hopes that some members are ...able to help out. We hope you can join us at our next meeting. Lakeland Lacrosse Association would like to take a moment to recognize someone very special who has recently moved on from a role she has held for several years within our association. Tammy Brown has been our Treasurer for many years. This is a demanding and tiresome role that can be quite tedious at times. She has also held various other board positions in both the Wheatland and Lakeland, and at times fulfilled multiple board positions simultaneously to ensure our kids and parents would have a great experience! She performed all her tasks diligently and with great care and took pride in fulfilling each role to the best of her ability. Tammy has stayed on with the minor lacrosse program, even though her boys have been in the Junior program for multiple years now, simply for the love of the game and our community. Tammy always provided an experienced, wise and practical voice of reason at all of our meetings. We are hopeful she will be with us for a little longer in some capacity, but we would ask you all to please take a moment to thank her for her dedication and hard work because she has definitely been instrumental in making our operation run smoothly. Thank you for all your hard work Tammy! Words cannot express our gratitude. On another note, we have some exciting news to share but have to keep it to ourselves for a little bit longer! Stay tuned to our Facebook page and watch your emails to see our upcoming announcement!! Yours in Lacrosse, Michael Groves Lakeland Lacrosse Association President

Well, today was an amazing day and a great season finale for our Lacrosse families and our Association. Though there were many bumps and hurdles to make today a great way to end the modified season, the smiles on the parents and players faces made it all worth it. On behalf of the Lakeland Lacrosse Association, we want to thank first and foremost the parents and players from each division for trusting us to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for you to enjoy the game you lov...e, the coaches, assistant coaches and all the volunteers that were there from the beginning and seen it through to the end and finally to our referees that spent the day with us today to help make it safe and fun for all. NOTE: *Please keep watch for potential Winter Sessions as your Board of Directors and Executives are working very hard to make this happen* Also, for those Goalie parents, please drop your child’s goalie equipment off at Sylvester’s Source for Sports in Bonnyville and have it cleaned. Once it has been cleaned, please contact Lori Geneau at 613-403-4412- Lakeland Equipment Director, to make arrangements for return. This needs to be done by end Aug. Thanks again everyone and we hope to see you all very soon
