We are so honored to be one of the selected charities through Canadian Natural Resources -Wolf Lake through their Building Futures Community Investment Program. CNRL has been sponsoring us through various initiatives and despite COVID restrictions, they have come up with creative ways to support us! We were so grateful to receive a cheque for $3523! This money goes such a long way in helping us care for the animals at the LHS. Thank you to each and every animal lover for thinking of us during this past year! We want to take a minute to tell you about one CRAZY amazing couple who have come up with a way to support the LHS and the animals that are near and dear to them! Last year during lockdowns and restrictions, this amazing couple put their skills to work for the animals and raised a ton of money thanks to all of their local cold lake customers! They took donated bikes to fix them up and sell them and donate the proceeds to the animals. This year they are online and taking don...ations! Check their facebook page out... its amazing to see!! One of the hardest things to find is someone willing to adopt a bonded pair. It can take quite awhile to find a purrfect home and for Poe & Pirelli, we waited patiently for 5 months until this amazing human showed up! Purpose of Position: The Resource Development Coordinator is responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and administrative support in order to ensure that Lakeland Humane Society services are provided in an effective and efficient manner. This position is responsible for initiatives relating to fund development, humane education and volunteer program. Position Summary: Under the authority of the Board of Directors and in accordance with established policies and proced...ure the Resource Development Coordinator will assume the following tasks and responsibilities: Answering and directing incoming calls to the LHS via the main switchboard Greeting and assisting walk-in clients Data entry & clerical work Management of all volunteers of the organization; Promoting the organization and its programs in the media and to the general public, and managing the image of the organization; Management of fund development program for the organization; Management of volunteer program for the organization; Management of humane education program for the organization; Qualifications: Education: Business and/or Office Administration or equivalent experience Skills and Experience: Customer Service experience Exceptional telephone skills and the ability to deal with difficult callers/situations Analytical and problem solving skills, decision making skills, Excellent interpersonal and verbal and listening communication skills Ability to work in a fast paced environment Time management Proven management and administrative skills, including financial and human resource management Fund raising knowledge including basic fundraising principles and techniques, Knowledge of foundation and corporate funding opportunities, planned giving vehicles Skill in lesson planning and presentation Recruitment, training and coordination of volunteers to assist employees in the efficient running of the facility. We would like to thank each and every volunteer for all of your hard work and dedication to the animals this year. As we are heading into Xmas Fosters, we will not have any available dogs to walk this week and have shut down dog walking for the remainder of the year. We have been very fortunate to secure foster families for our animals and are so excited for their real in home family experience! While we DO like to get wrapped up in the excitement of the auction (it's so fun!!), we DON'T like to forget the real reason that we push so hard for this event. Today we find ourselves thinking of Ezekiel. Zeke was a handsome pitbull who had been found in dire conditions. Clearly, he had been subjected to horrendous acts of abuse and needed help FAST! The LHS alongside the incredible team of vets helped Zeke with his recovery. Zeke had much to recover and heal from before he... would be able to meet his special humans. After 474 days, this incredible dog with an incredible journey was adopted. Zeke lives an amazing life with adopters who will do anything for him. Why do we fundraise? We fundraise for Zeke. For dogs and cats who need extra time, extra medical attention and extra patience while they heal from their pasts. We fundraise because we don't want to give up on any animal that comes through these doors. Join us on November 26, 2020 as we fundraise for each animal and their second chance.

Hi Everyone! With the upcoming busy season upon us and with more people adopting, donating and licensing, we are seeing a big increase in the number of visitors to the shelter. We ask that when you visit the LHS administration building that you please wear a mask when inside. Our staff is very important and we want to do our best in keeping them healthy so they can continue their work with the animals. ... Your cooperation and understanding is very much appreciated.
