I recently found a kitchen faucet that felt loose yet everything underneath was tight. The single handle faucet had almost 3/8 movement in all directions. My solution was to make a 3/4 plywood spacer 12 long by 2-1/2 wide with a 1-1/2 hole to put all the supply lines through. I installed it and it’s rock solid. A nice simple fix and I luckily had everything I needed in my van.
I saw this tile today and I really want to install it on the main floor of a house. We can install in floor heating under the tile to keep your toes warm all year long!
We finished staining a cedar gazebo today. It was previously stained with the traditional clear coat. The roof and screens received a fresh coat of transparent oil and the sides a coat of solid black.
Saving a custom storm door that blew off in the wind recently. Glue and clamps!
If you require Thermal Imaging to detect a leak or heat loss we can help you find it using science. This is an image of a water leak above a ceiling. The blue is the water in the drywall and the direction it’s traveling. We can now look above and work out the source of the leak. This was a roof flashing issue. We will remove the wet drywall and carry out the repairs complete.
My after hours project this week was to complete a kitchen backsplash using 2 x 10 stacked glass tile.
The student rental basement apartment is finished! So many surprises I could have made a TV show about it. My clients are thrilled and I’m sure their tenants will love it. Here’s a few final shots of the shower I built, the crazy small custom sink area I made and the staircase I built out of an old set of construction stairs. On to the next project!
Here’s a bathroom shower in a student rental I’m rebuilding. When I took the tile off there was nothing left. I rebuilt the walls, had the plumbing moved, poured a new concrete floor and installed a Schluter shower pan and drain system. The seat in the shower hides the water meter but gives access from the hallway. Next step is waterproofing the walls and some beautiful lappato tile.
Today we are celebrating 10 years in our own business! Thank you to our wonderful family, friends, suppliers and clients that have supported us and recommended us.
I installed crown moulding this week in a living room and dining room. Classic and beautiful! It's made of a very nice wood called poplar and it is easy to work with.
I added a 10' long closet to a bedroom, replaced the suspended ceiling with drywall, installed pot lights, new trim, wire shelves and painted the room. It all starts on a cart!
Today I'm building a nice sized closet in a basement. There will be 2 pairs of doors, drywall, trim and paint. We will put in shelving and our clients will love the room and storage they will have.
