It provides the power needed to turn your excavator's tracks and move it. It is made up of two main components - the hydraulic motor, also called the travel motor, and the gearbox, commonly known as the final drive. Your excavator's cooling package tends to get plugged with dirt or other debris which causes it to overheat and need to be shut down so the cooling package could be cleaned out. Now, John Deere, reversing fans periodically reverse airflow to clear debris from the coolers automatically.
