Takipsilim is a Filipino word which translates to twilight or nightfall and is pronounced as t:kps'lm. As a kid, I always hated sunsets. Sunsets made me think of an end to something beautiful. But as I grew up, I learned a lot of lessons which reminded me to be thankful and also to enjoy the simple things in life. Sunsets remind me of a promise of a new tomorrow, a promise to get up and start over.... In a world that is fast paced and full of complications, as an artist, I hope to show people how beautiful and simple life can be. I want my photographs to remind everyone that endings can be beautiful. I hope people will realize that sometimes, you have to slow down and just enjoy life Born a proud Filipino, I decided to name my gallery Takipsilim to demonstrate my pride in my heritage. Takipsilim is a collection of sunset photographs taken in different locations around both Canada and the States using all the skills that I have learned from my two years of education at Lambton College. The series of images shows that endings can be beautiful and the start of new beginnings.
