And that’s a wrap on 2020! One year ago, if you told me that there was going to be a global pandemic, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But if you told me that I would run for public office, I definitely wouldn’t have believed you.... It’s been a crazy year, with lots of changes, challenges, and learning. I’ll share a few photos of my favourite (mostly pre-COVID) moments from throughout the year. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me and encouraged me throughout the past year. I don’t really have the words to describe how endlessly grateful I am for every one of you. I also want to acknowledge that it’s been an incredibly hard year for many, many people. All of you have faced challenges that I cannot begin to understand, and I want you to know that I support you, and believe in you, especially as we move into 2021 And with that, happy 2021and best wishes to everyone. Here’s to a happy, healthy, and prosperous year

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has enjoyed a safe, kind, and joyous holiday. Special thanks to our frontline workers, and those that are working through the holiday!

This is a great summary of the challenges that students have faced this year. I’m so happy that UNBC has made the decision to delay the first day of classes in January. Thank you so much to everyone that made their voices heard!

Today we remember the Montreal Massacre. On December 6, 1989, a man entered École Polytechnique and murdered 14 women, and injured more. He targeted them because they were women. They were murdered because of their gender.... In the aftermath of the attack, our leaders and politicians neglected to call this atrocity what it was: an attack on women. Today, we call this femicide. Today and everyday we must encourage women to follow their dreams, support them in their goals, and stand up for them. Every day, we must remember this horrible tragedy, and commit to doing better. Say their names. Remember. Take Action. - Geneviève Bergeron, 21 - Hélène Colgan, 23 - Nathalie Croteau, 23 - Barbara Daigneault, 22 - Anne-Marie Edward, 21 - Maud Haviernick, 29 - Barbara Klucznik-Widajewicz, 31 - Maryse Laganière, 25 - Maryse Leclair, 23 - Anne-Marie Lemay, 22 - Sonia Pelletier, 23 - Michèle Richard, 21 - Anne St-Arneault, 23 - Annie Turcotte, 21 www.femicideincanada.org

Congratulations to John Horgan all of the Cabinet Ministers! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone step in to their new roles, or return to their old ones! BC is in good hands with this team of people! And as a side note, I am thrilled to see that the cabinet is gender balanced, and one of BC’s youngest MLAs has joined cabinet! A special congrats to Bowinn Ma and the other 11 female cabinet ministers!
