Landscape Effects is proud to work with the City of Kelowna and yesterday we cleared the snow from Stuart Park, downtown Kelowna. You know what that means??? It's almost skating time. The city is flooding the rink today and we can all be out there skating away, socially distanced of course.

Woop Woop, join us in celebrating!!! Our time to shine is finally here, hot sun and summer living is fun and all but bring on the snow, right? LFX appreciates our hard working crews that have been and are still dealing with snowfalls across Western Canada like Meadow Lake, SK, Okotoks, AB, & Anahim Lake, BC to name but a few. ... With the BC Election happening over the past weekend, there were dozens of polling locations across the province that needed clearing during a large storm. Last Friday/Saturdays Okanagan snowfall of up to 8 inches in areas was quite the unwelcome October surprise. Extra condolences, I mean appreciation, goes to almost every crew in BC from Nelson to Fort Nelson. Piles of Snow are being hauled away and crews are adjusting from a landscape season that was still in progress last week. To all the Snow Plow Operators, Skid Steer, Tractor and Loader operators, Hand Shovel Crew Members, Sidewalk Machine Operators, Sanding Truck Drivers, we salute you. A huge shout out for your efforts keeping the box stores open, police, fire, port of entries, banks, schools and everywhere else. Follow up kudos to the support staff answering the phones, sending the work orders completing the paperwork and so much more thankless efforts.

Landscape season is so wonderful, at least compared to Sn.... whoa that was too close!!! While we are waiting, let's take a look at a current project under construction by one of our fantastic Associate Contractors. In this example, half of a sports field is being rejuvenated, new topsoil, soil ammendments, seeding, blah blah blah. Anywho, let's get serious and talk equipment.... Is there anything more exciting than climbing onto your Toro Dingo TX1000 with a soil cultivator attachment, driving less than 5 kms/hr covering an 88,000 sqft area (cause it sounds better than 2 acres)? Nope, we didn't think so! Watch this brief, high octane, edge of your seat, thrilling video that reminds us of Nascar or something like that. Kudos to Kevin and the team at True North Landscape Service for their extreme effort, we love it.
