How do handle the mess of baby feeding? For the most part, I recommend to just embrace it (or get a dog). Remember that along with the mess comes sensory play, food exploration and the beginning stages of developing a healthy relationship with food. There is so much learning in the experience. I’m human too. Sometimes I cringe at disaster that is, to be honest, any meal of the day... but set yourself up for success by investing in a good bib (I love a silicone trough bib, myself), maybe stripping your babe down and moving away from any carpet or upholstered chairs... and take comfort in knowing that, by allowing for a mess (and maybe even encouraging it), you’re giving your baby so much more.

Oh, the toddler years. They’re not for the faint of heart. Good thing I have sweet moments like these captured on camera. They’ll carry me through... Anyone else feel me with their threenager? I feel like I’ll be able to draw lots of parallels between this stage and when she’s 14ish. Hence, how the threenanger term came to be in the first place... Stay strong, toddler parents (and parents of 14 year old girls).

Teaching her how to nourish, heal, rest, play, think, speak up, and dream... These are some of the most important jobs I have ever known. And I have never felt their gravity more than I do today. Rise up, mama.

This download has been a popular one on my site, so I’ve made it even easier to access. Love the idea of a smoothie but never know what the heck to put in them? Grab my free guide to make a winning, nutrient-dense smoothie every time. https://www.lindsaymundy.ca/free-smoothie-guide.html P.s. If you’re worried about your child’s fruit and veg intake, smoothies are a great option to incorporate into their meal rotation for a quick hit of nutrients.

Including the 1 year old in playdough making was ambitious. He’s at the stage where he wants to do everything his big sister is doing (she graciously agreed to share her learning tower... this time). I like homemade playdough way better than store-bought. It’s less sticky and I know exactly what’s in it. If you store it properly, it lasts for months, plus you can customize it. Ayla brought in a fresh batch for her show-and-share today and we made up little individual baggies ...for all of her classmates (covid life). All you need is 2 cups of flour, 2 tbsp cream of tartar, 1 cup of salt, 1.5 cups of boiling water. Then add colour, sparkles and essential oils as desired! We always pick lavender . I didn’t get a pic of the finished product this time because I was navigating this disaster of a mess.

I’m not that sentimental when it comes to physical things. But this little romper holds a special place in my heart. We bought it in Amsterdam when we moved to Europe on my first mat leave for 2 months. Dave took a sabbatical, we rented out our home on @airbnb and took off to create some pretty incredible family memories. We barely purchased anything to bring back with us on that trip. We didn’t feel the need (and we also didn’t have the space in our luggage!). But I remember splurging on this piece. It was well-made (like many baby clothes in Europe) and we made sure to buy a gender neutral colour in case we ever had a boy. We wanted to hold on to the memory of this trip and see him toddling around in it just like his big sister. Swipe for an Ayla flashback .

There’s nothing better than knowing you’re doing the work your community needs. And so I am asking: what’s your biggest struggle when it comes to individual or family nutrition? Are you so busy taking care of everyone else that your own wellness falls to the bottom of the priority list? Are you struggling with a picky eater and constantly worry that they aren’t getting the nutrition they need? Are you too busy to come up with the meal plan/meal prep you desire for your family...? Comment below or DM me. We ALL struggle with certain nutrition goals. The challenges eb and flow and look different as the seasons of life change. Because we’re all human. For me, I just went through a week where I was DONE with baby lunches. I just didn’t feel like coming up with nutrient dense mid-day meals. I managed that by using a lot of dinner leftovers, which gave me a bit of a mental break and set me up for success come Monday, reset and ready to get back on the meal-planning horse. Share your current wellness roadblock below. I guarantee you’ll have countless others nodding their heads in agreement. As for me, I want to make sure that my work, behind the scenes, is supporting your needs.

It’s almost Love Day and you know I couldn’t let it slip by without hitting the kitchen for a few real-food alternatives to some of the standard store-bought Valentine treats. But you better believe they all include chocolate. Some are perfect for the kids, but one simple recipe in particular is the perfect addition to a romantic V-Day dinner with that special someone. Head on over to my blog for all the goods. https://www.lindsaymundy.ca/b/healthy-valentines-day-treats
