It’s official, WINTER IS OVER! Cochrane’s OFSC snowmobile trails were the last in the province to close last weekend, and spring is well ahead of schedule. Guess what’s right around the corner?!

Thought of the day! I've tried to convince my wife that somewhere it says, "Man cannot have too many lures and fishing poles."

We were so saddened to hear about Brooke’s injury. The Chapleau family is the embodiment of Northern Spirit and are deeply involved in our community. They are often seen fishing together at Little Abitibi, so, if you’ve ever stayed at the lodge and found yourself following locals around (to their honey holes), there is a good possibility you were following this family.... Please support them any way you can. Get well Brooke!

Some new projections are out, and they suggest that 1 in 5 businesses may no longer be here when the pandemic is over For the tourism sector, who have been hit expescially hard, those numbers will most likely be higher; particularly since many businesses don’t qualify for COVID relief measures.

A special thank you to Chantal Calaiezzi, Celeste Bouvier and Greg Volume for helping us take care of our final group of guests of 2020, and get the Lodge ready to be closed up for winter. This was Celeste’s first visit to the lodge. Next time we owe you a weekend of nothing but pleasure! Cheers!

We love seeing posts from days gone by. Little Abitibi Lake Lodge has been operating since 1950, so there are plenty of memories to share! Over the years many of our neighbours to the south have visited. In fact we still have another group from Ohio who have been coming for more than 30 years consecutively. This would have been year 33. We echo your sentiments, and look forward to the day we can welcome our southern neighbours, once again! #TBT
