It's just me here. The London Breastfeeding Boutique is a one-woman show. So much has changed in the past year. What hasn't changed is that this business is still entirely run by me (Angela). I still love putting my energy and passion here because I know supporting moms (both literally and figuratively) when they're breastfeeding can make a huge difference in their early days of motherhood. I love when vendors make "about me" posts, so here are some things about m...e: I love to cook and even spent a year studying culinary skills at college after I finished my business degree. I do a double space after every period. I guess I'm old-fashioned that way. I have recently discovered that a core value of my life is to be comfortable as much as possible. It's one of the reasons why I find myself constantly recommending seamless nursing bras to most of my customers. I typically only 'put myself together' when I'm at the boutique. When I'm not working, I'm in lounge-wear as much as possible because , but something that was taught as part of my business degree is how important it is to show that you care about your job through how you present yourself, and it stuck. Within the last few years I've become really passionate about my holistic wellness. I exercise more regularly. I fill my body with more veggies and plant-based proteins than I did before. I focus on my breath more. I work at embracing the uncomfortable feelings more. I'm learning what makes my soul and body feel nourished and trying to do more of those things. "There is no other skill where we expect we should have a sudden knowledge and ability, in the way that we do about breastfeeding. No one expects that they will buy a piano (with no prior knowledge) and be able to play a concerto a week later. They don’t feel they have failed when they can’t do it. No one expects that they will be fluent in another language in a day or 2, even though language is natural. No one even expects they could run a 5k without a couch to 5k program. Why on earth do we feel that we are failing if we have problems doing something that we have never done before, rarely see done around us, and haven’t really any knowledge of? .... Do you know what is the difference between the mums who continue to breastfeed for as long as they want and those who stop? Support!"

Now that my family is getting used to the virtual schooling routine I’ve decided to try adding in-person appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays late afternoons/ early evening. The extra good news is that timing will allow me to take multiple appointments per day when needed I’m also getting more comfortable with the idea of welcoming babies in car seats back into the shop. Although it looks bigger on IG (how does that happen??) it’s a small space. Know that my goal will ...always be to stay 2m away from your babe whenever possible. It’s always easiest to shop at my boutique without your baby if that is available to you. Babies love to be held, especially by their mommies, and that’s impossible to do while trying on bras.
