Dear Church Family, Doug Ford's announcement yesterday to reopen churches to 30% capacity is music to our ears. In preparation for such an announcement, we were scheduled to have a meeting with the Ontario Conference's administrators yesterday and today. Part of our discussion was the preventive steps we will be taking to maintain a safe environment at our worship facility.... Though some discussion has already taken place with our team of elders and Church Board, we will be reviewing our plan to reopen. Please understand that reopening our facility for worship and other events will be gradual and will include preventive measures that will require everyones' collaboration. To this effect we will be working as fast as possible to get through the hurdles so that perhaps we might be able to gather together by June 20 or 27. What has already been decided for our 1st stage of reopening: - No person showing signs of any illness will be allowed in the premises. - Everyone will have to wear masks except when leading in song or preaching. - Reception tables providing hand sanitizer and masks will be setup at the entrance. - Doors will be left open for easy access and increased airflow. - Sitting arrangement will take into account social distancing requirements (6-10 Feet appart). - Sabbath School will remain on line for yet a time. We have to decide the best time to facilitate our gathering via ZOOM. - All supporting programs (Adventurers/Pathfinders/Choir/etc.) will continue to meet online (ZOOM) or remain suspended. - There will be no potlucks till further notice. - Areas in our facility will have restricted access to minimize cleaning (i.e. classrooms/fellowship hall/kitchen). - Worship services will be kept between an 1h to 1h30min. - Expect to come 30mins in advance so we can enter our gathering with caution.
