Posted @withregram @wocandwellness Repost @shantiwithin. Enough of the toxic spiritual bypassing in wellness. These are simple things that we can all be doing in our daily lives and as part of our Yoga practice to cause less harm. It is the most Yogic thing we can all be doing right now. Let’s please stop politicising the mask as I also keep saying. Wearing it is an act of compassion and kindness towards humanity as you wear a mask to not just protect yourself but others al...so. Tag a friend and let me know who you wear your mask for In California and multiple states around the country many ICUs are reaching capacity. With the holidays coming up I dread to think of where COVID numbers and hospitalisations will be over the next few weeks and the disproportionate impact it will have on BIPOC communities as it is already having. Over 296,000 Americans have already died of this virus over the past 10 months and this number grows each day . Please stay safe by wearing a mask, washing and sanitizing your hands, alongside socially distancing. It is not an infringement upon your civil liberties to wear a mask so kindly check your privilege. We are in a pandemic that is raging and we all need to do our part to curb the spread. This is Yoga in action #covidisreal #wearamask #yogainaction

Posted @withregram @shantiwithin #decolonize I keep saying this in my decolonizing Yoga trainings. Lately I see even more focus by non South Asian folx on curating and promoting playlists for yoga classes which feeds into cultural appropriation and the continual colonisation and desecration of our sacred faith. You really don’t need the perfect playlist or quite frankly any music at all in your class. All of this serves to commercialise and commoditise Yoga which is unneces...sary and goes against the actual teachings of Yoga itself by creating more noise and distraction from the essence of the practice. The path of Yoga as detailed in the Yoga Sutras by Sage Patanjali has 8 limbs and we need to be practicing all of the limbs of yoga to truly experience the deep richness of this ancient sacred practice. Yoga is much more than Asana. We will need all of the limbs of yoga in the coming months to come together in unity. Tag a friend and let me know how you are practicing decolonizing your yoga practice in your daily life Sadhana is the Sanskrit word for a daily spiritual practice. It's the foundation for your personal, individual effort to communicate with the divine inside of you and all around you working towards collective consciousness and unity for all beings. The first 3 limbs Yama, Niyama and Asana are Bahiranga Sadhana the outward quests of the Sadhaka spiritual aspirant. The next 2 limbs Pranayama and Pratyahara are Antaranga Sadhana which are the inward quests. The last 3 limbs Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi are Antaratma Sadhana which are the the quest of the soul to live in harmony internally and externally. Let’s remember that yoga is a lived experience and a practice that we do in all areas of our life so we can recognise our own divine nature and the divine nature of those around us. If one of us suffers we all suffer which is why we work towards alleviating our own suffering and the pain and suffering of our fellow beings. Let’s be more concerned about actually practicing and living the 8 limbs of Yoga than creating perfect playlists. Posted @withregram @coachsteph411 From Former President George W. Bush: "I just talked to the President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden. I extended my warm congratulations and thanked him for the patriotic message he delivered last night. I also called Kamala Harris to congratulate her on her historic election to the vice presidency. Though we have political differences, I know Joe Biden to be a good man, who has won his opportunity to lead and unify our country. The... President-elect reiterated that while he ran as a Democrat, he will govern for all Americans. I offered him the same thing I offered Presidents Trump and Obama: my prayers for his success, and my pledge to help in any way I can. I want to congratulate President Trump and his supporters on a hard-fought campaign. He earned the votes of more than 70 million Americans - an extraordinary political achievement. They have spoken, and their voices will continue to be heard through elected Republicans at every level of government. The fact that so many of our fellow citizens participated in this election is a positive sign of the health of our democracy and a reminder to the world of its strength. No matter how you voted, your vote counted. President Trump has the right to request recounts and pursue legal challenges, and any unresolved issues will be properly adjudicated. The American people can have confidence that this election was fundamentally fair, its integrity will be upheld, and its outcome is clear. The challenges that face our country will demand the best of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris - and the best of us all. We must come together for the sake of our families and neighbors, and for our nation and its future. There is no problem that will not yield to the gathered will of a free people. Laura and I pray for our leaders and their families. We ask for God's continued blessings on our country. And we urge all Americans to join us in wishing our next President and Vice President well as they prepare to take up their important duties."
