Our Humans of LPS segment has returned! Follow along each week as we share the stories of some of our sworn and civilian members about why they chose to serve the public in a career in policing. This week, meet Kathy: I am one of the newest members of the London Police Service (LPS), having joined in early November 2020. In my role as Manager, Corporate Communications and Media Relations, I am responsible for ensuring that information is communicated - both internally to o...ur members, and externally to our community in a timely and professional manner. My favourite part of being a communicator is sharing good news stories that happen quietly, and which may otherwise never be known - and trust me, there are plenty of great things happening at LPS. LPS is an organization I have long admired, having lived in this city most of my life. I have had the experience of being supported by members of the organization both personally and professionally in the past, and have always been impressed by their professionalism and dedication. After spending over two decades working in the health-care and not-for-profit sectors, I know the important role LPS plays in our community and knew when the opportunity to join became available that it was the right move for me. I am fortunate to be married to my very patient and supportive husband who has always encouraged me to do what’s right in my heart, and who makes my life easier and better in every way. We are proud residents of downtown London, and do our very best to keep the local restaurant and retails sectors in business, often to the detriment of our waistlines and wallets. I am excited to work alongside my dynamic team in sharing the important work being done by London Police Service each and every day.
