This was a year of surprises for everyone, but here at the shop the latest shocker is that October has turned into dream build month! At a time when finding any bike has seemed impossible, a few lucky customers have scored the bikes they'd never thought they'd find. First up is Victor's amazing carbon Spartan mullet bike. A little custom finagling and a lot of help from Devinci's closeout page yielded this black and bronze stunner at a steal of a deal. I can't believe how fantastic this thing looks! The hanger on this GT was a tricky one! Lots of fiddly mounting screws with tiny threads called for a composite design with steel and aluminum step-riveted into a single piece. Incoming!!!! It's project bike week at Lynx and Hare Cycles. First up is Nick's Norco Sasquatch. Nick's had this bike since he was a kid, and loved everything about it except the mustard yellow paint. So it was time for an update with a brand new Deore 110 drivetrain, BB7 brake and snazzy new cockpit to compliment the amazing military inspired paint scheme that Nick and his girlfriend did entirely at home. Wow that's some impressive stencil work! Only problem is the M*A*S*H theme gets stuck in my head every time I look at it. Great job Nick and Taryn! @ Lynx and Hare Cycles

Years ago in England my father knew a communist plummer named Sid. Sid tore up his card when the Soviet tanks rolled into Prague and now, all these years later, here we are tuning up this charming pre-communist Rapido Czech kids bike that somehow rode out the cold war in a shed right here in Alton. The paint is a shade that looks to Moscow but the spangly glitter banana seat definitely seat cries for freedom. We think Sid would have loved this bike.

What do you do when your Cannondale shatters apart in the trainer and there's no warranty? You port all your parts onto a deliciously red Devinci Milano frame of course. Some blistering times recorded at the Alton pumptrack opening day. Was this the first running of an annual timed track day? We hope so! Congratulations and thanks to everyone who turned out to lay down a run.

Such an incredibly great time at the pumptrack opening today! Big huge thanks to everyone who came out to ride, watch, and eat hot dogs. Thanks to the Town of Caledon for building the track, and everyone who helped push this project through, and thanks to everyone on the Alton Village Association who helped out today. Great job on the timing Jane, and I can't believe how quickly and professionally Jesse Cardinal put this video together! And Colin, wow, what can I say? Dancing through the track in 23 seconds has really set the bar.
