Ok so this is me...and this is a top I made today for our deck fire pit...I think my little girl must have taken this pic a couple days ago...just found it in my phone and have no clue where it came from...it’s about the only way I allow photos sooo... A few years ago I took up woodworking and I’m starting to wonder if I’ve become somewhat of a wood snob...you see I grew up in a small town in central Newfoundland Canada where the only choice of material for woodworkers... was good one side ply or SPF 2x4 or 2x6...that’s it there really was nothing else...I find myself looking to stay away from spruce and pine these days and wondering ...maybe walnut? How about some quarter sawn white oak...but sometimes Home Depot 2x6 is all you need......this top is made from scraps and a couple old 2x6 that were laying around the shop...
