Yes, it’s about time for me to post some finished quilts. It’s beautifully warm in Arizona, but, we are still very covid cautious, so, I am inside more than usual!!! The first quilt was found in my closet during our first round of covid ‘stay at home’ cleaning. I’m sure it was cut out about ten years ago. The second quilt was a group effort. Three of us made the same quilt(different sizes, colours, etc) after we raced home in March, 2020.
More scraps being used!!!
‘Dolly quilts’. These are made to go into the Christmas hampers along with the dolls. ( got rid of a few scraps).
This quilt was quilted two winters ago, while we were in AZ. I’ve just finished the binding- it will go to a good home!
The ‘autumn’ entryway quilt. According to the label I made this wool wall hanging in 2011.
Another ‘house ‘ quilt. This one was made at a virtual MPQ workshop last winter. It was quilted at the Design Wall.
Finally finished this guy- kind of ‘spring like’- matches our beautiful weather
This quilt started out as a way to use up some of my light coloured solid fabrics. I did add a few low volumes for interest.
In my ‘happy place’!!! Design Wall in Winnipeg has purchased two Gammill machines. I have just spent two days training. Quilting is computer generated, so a major learning curve for me. This is my first quilt!! In a few weeks, I might be available for client quilts.
These quilts were all made in memory of a wife/mom and grandma.
This quilt has just been gifted to my mother in law in Cape Breton. It was designed by Anna Morrell Robinson of Cape Breton.I have adapted the pattern by adding images of Pleasant Bay views. On the back, I added a key which explains what the images represent ( yes, I know- the fiddles and the lobsters are obvious!)
‘There is a Silver Lining’. This quilt was designed by Marni MacDonald. She died before she was able to make it, so, her quilt group, The Nine Patchers, completed the quilt and I quilted it. (2006). Karen Mundt has been the keeper of the quilt; for her 80th birthday, she gifted friends some of her quilts. I am honoured to have received this quilt that has such meaning for me.
Another hallway hanging- Kate and Birdie fabrics that celebrate Canada. Also, two samples that will hang in the Design Wall in Winnipeg; making these tops kept me busy while enjoying the virtual Quilt Canada this weekend.
These quilts will be donated to Quilts of Valour. We were asked to make them to take to Quilt Canada in June in Edmonton. Well, as we know, that didn’t happen, so, I’ve finally finished them up!!
This ‘house’ quilt has been in the works for several years. It is made from ‘surprise bags of scraps’ that I got at the modern quilt show in California. And, of course, another 60 masks- off to a dr’s office.
Winter hanging. Now, to make some more masks!!
My Christmas tablecloth!!
Another memory quilt- this guy likes trains!!
