Mysterious Silver Sparrow Malware Found Nesting on 30K Macs! https://threatpost.com/silver-sparrow-malware-30k-m/164121/
Copied and pasted from someone in my home town group Just received a scam phone call from someone saying they were my daughter and had been in a car accident. F...ell for it for a few minutes. Did not sound like my daughter but said she had a broken nose. Then went on to say she was at the courthouse and police accusing her of drinking and driving. I knew it was a scam at this point, as she just had just left the house. She then put on some guy who said he was a lawyer. When he realized I wasn’t gong along with the scam, he called me every name in the book and hung up. My sister informs me this scam has been around for awhile and they often target grandparents. They trick you into saying child’s name at the start of the call by asking Mom, Grandma? They ask for money to get the charges dropped or keep it out of the courts. Please beware. See more

It's truly shocking how hackers are able to break into your bank account...
#Hacking is rampant right now. I mean it has been for years but especially now with so many people not able to go back to work, no $ etc. I'm the latest victim... All because I was too lazy to change just ONE of many passwords. One password I've left unchanged for almost a year! Well, I'm paying the price. My point is, if you leave just one little door open for too long, someone's gonna open it. Once they're in, they will gain access to anything and everything!... PASSWORDS!!! Must be changed once every 3 months. Write them down on paper, type them out on a Word doc and print then DELETE that info immediately. DO NOT save passwords to your desktop - I've seen it done :/ I have since changed all of my passwords. However, that's not going to get rid of the hacker because they have now gone into the system and changed the settings so that they have access to everything. First thing is run a full computer virus scan. Second, go to the settings in your Microsoft account, bank accounts, Google accounts - everything, and check the user settings. Make sure no one else's name is in there. (they got into my etransfer profile setting). If this is way too much or too involved for you, I can help. Send me a message on this page. BTW, I see a few people asking for help getting rid of Malware, viruses etc. on social media... Most people responded by saying you can do it yourself. Yes, there are free programs out there that help, but unfortunately, they don't and can't possibly see the big picture. "Free" always comes with baggage. Most of us are well aware of that. Some 'free' anti malware programs are exactly that - malware because they actually plant data in your system on purpose. This is to get you to buy their product/s. Some are so bad that they are called ransomware. This is where they attempt to gain total control of your computer and will not give it back unless you PAY. I don't use any of these crappy programs and would never use them during a repair or tune up on someone else's computer. I do it all manually. This is why it takes me 8 to 12 hours in some cases. I usually charge 30 p/h on repairs however, my Tune-Ups are flat rated at 120 even. No matter if it takes 2 days, the price stays the same. This is my hook, as some call it ;) Everyone's got one, (or should have). But in all fairness, this is a helluva deal. Do the math. BTW, I have SECURED my computer and all my devices and the thief got nothin! :) Message me here if you'd like to take advantage of my deal. Thank you for reading and safe surfin' everyone!
Paying once for software and then owning it forever? What a concept!
Which streaming device gives cord-cutters the best connection? It's complicated.
So today our Summer ends and tomorrow Autumn begins. Keep your umbrellas handy, it's gonna get soggy out there...starting Wednesday. Of course this means we're on our computers a lot more too. Make sure yours is all tuned up and good to go - it may be overdue... If so, take advantage of my 'Tune-Up' SPECIAL flat rate now! Please don't wait until it crashes - you may lose all your precious data :/
Stay connected to broadband no matter where you are.
So here's the latest phone scam that was sent to me today. Just received a call from 833-866-9714. I researched it right away. Block & delete that number immediately. https://directory.youmail.com/directory/phone/8338669714
Good tips for everyone to abide by ;)

Shared post: WARNING - Tapped phone Scam. Please read. I got scammed - WARNING - Spread the word Monday morning I got a phone call on my land line from someone saying they were from my bank and that my credit card was compromised and someone was charging my card for $900 overseas. She asked me a couple of questions and I told her I did not feel comfortable giving her any information. She told me her name was Mary and that I should call the number on the back of my credit ca...rd and ask for her. So I hung up, got my Mastercard and dialed the number on the back. After the woman answered I asked for Mary and was put through to her. After speaking for a bit and exchanging information, she put me through to someone in the security department who got a bit more information from me. Last night I paid that particular Mastercard bill, checked my recent transactions and noticed there was a $5 charge from Walmart in Ottawa so yesterday morning I called HSBC to report the charge as not being mine. I told the lady that I had spoken to Mary and another person in the fraud department so she looked into that and it turns out I had been had. Somehow even though I hung up the phone and dialed the number on the back of the credit card, they were still connected to my phone line. Now the RCMP are involved and all my accounts are frozen. So if anyone ever calls and tells you to tell you that your credit card has been compromised and to call them back at the number on the back of the card, don't use the same telephone. Luckily I will not be on the hook for the over $23,000 they spent on my credit card. Spread the word so this doesn't happen to anyone else. UPDATE: Since yesterday I have found out that this is a scam called "Line-trapping". CTV News Toronto wrote an article about it last November. https://globalnews.ca//new-line-tapping-technology-scam-/.
This will never happen if you keep it tuned up ;)
Big telcos have been trying to stop the CRTC from reducing internet rates.
Update: The devices have been spoken for now. Thank you and hopefully we'll have more some time soon :) Good Day Folks! A good samaritan in our community has donated some devices and she asked me to repair/wipe and administer appropriately.... We have a refurbished Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop - upgraded the ram to 4 gbs so it now has win10 - maybe good for a younger or older person who is in need. Also, a Samsung tablet, simply wiped clean, an older model but working well. Please thank Thuy Wong for her consideration and thoughtfulness :) If there is someone that is in desperation, and could use one or both of these devices, please contact via direct message on this page. Thank you community of #PittMeadowsCommunity & #HammondNeighbours :) #Giveback #Payitforward
