In 1996 she founded the first Mary Kay Foundation with the mission to... eliminate cancers impacting women and end domestic violence. Globally, around 231 million women are running new businesses. While this number is impressiveand has shown growthit is only a fraction compared to businesses... run by men. 27% of women around the globe started their businesses out of necessity, as compared to 21.8% of men. Women are strong and capable leaders and often a woman’s opportunity for financial independence is by starting a business, and when doing so she should have the equal opportunity to pursue that dream. Our own entrepreneurial female founder, Mary Kay Ash didn’t have the equal opportunity to grow in her jobso she started her own business. We want to encourage and support all those who have entrepreneurial dreams and aspirations.
