Si heureuse d'accueuillir un nouveau collègue, Florian Deverrière Ostéopathe pour travailler à mes côtés au 35 Beechwood. Fantastic d'avoir cet appuie afin de pouvoir aider plus de gens, et les urgences. Bienvenue Florian! So pleased to welcome Florian Deverrière DO(MP) who has joined me and the team at the clinic on Beechwood. Fantastic to have another set of hands and be able to help more people and emergencies. Glad to have you Florian!

Just received these pictures from the Escuela de Osteopatia de Barcelona, taken this April while I was teaching my post-grad course on Spondylolisthesis and their impacts on childbirth. What a special experience to share this time and knowledge with colleagues from across the Ocean. Moltes gracies a tots y totas... Os agradesco vuestro interés! Merci de votre intérêt!

Once again had a fantastic time teaching Ottawa University medical students about osteopathy in the context of their 4 days of courses on complimentary medicine. They are open minded, curious and bright! As the program coordinator pointed out, with the opioid crisis, current medical guidelines are for doctors to refer patients with musculo skeletal pain to manual therapists before turning to narcotics and pain killers, so they really need to be exposed more to these complimen...tary professions to know what each does and to whom a patient should be referred to. Half a day on manual therapies is all they currently get... but its a start. They were tremendously grateful. Great exchanges! Congrats to Dr. Adrienne Junek, coordinator of this course. She assembled a fantastic group of manual therapists and spoke of their importance within the medical system with tremendous respect and humility... Look forward to this again next year! See more

Really great scientific article written by two dentists explaining the importance of Osteopatic cranial treatment to orthodontic care.

A man I treated last week with severe headaches, feels better now after I released tensions between the bones of the face associated to intense orthodontic work when he was a teenager... this article I wrote a while back is still so pertinent...

This little one came to me this week because of a progressively flattening zone of the back of his head (plagiocephaly). We worked on his cranial bone alignment and tensions of the membranes they are attached to. My sense is that those tensions were also compressing the vagus nerve coming out of the cranium and contributing to a strong regurgitation issue. He particularly enjoyed and released his neck tensions when we briefly and gently worked in his head down birthing position:)

I am so happy to share this! The Escuela de Osteopatia de Barcelona has invited me to give a course this April in Barcelona on Spondylolisthesis and on its impacts on birthing. I am so very pleased to be able to help care improve for people with this condition... If there are enough English participants wanting a piece of Barcelona in the Spring ;) the course will be given in English and Spanish. So please come join us!!!

Superb visualisation of a Specific Adjustment Technique (SAT) in slow motion by Pau Dalmau, Founder of the Escola d'Osteopatia de Barcelona and teacher of the SAT course in Holland last December. Notice the wave travelling through the entire spine, which works to release the full spinal impact of whiplash injuries. Beautiful!

I had the honor of spending part of yesterday with an impressive group of new immigrants to Canada, all health care professionals (doctors, nurses and radiologists etc...) who's credentials are not recognized in Canada. It is in the context of training courses called FLAP and PASS which aims to help them reorient their professional lives that I was invited to share a bit about osteopathy. The exchanges that took place were deeply gratifying for us all... Thank you to Raymond ...Perras, the trainer, for his deep involvement and generosity. Gracias a todas!

David! Many thanks for this fantastic course. This approach is so rich and particular in allowing to transition from theory to the actual reality of each individual's tissues. A turning point for my practice! Thank you for your passion and generosity. See you next Fall!
