Congratulations to Heidi Wendt (History & Classical Studies and the School of Religious Studies) who has been awarded the McGill Faculty of Arts 2020 Award for ...Distinction in Research by an emerging scholar, chosen from among faculty members. Dr. Wendt’s research investigates the history of religion in the Roman Empire, with a focus on situating Jewish and Christian actors and phenomena within their Greco-Roman milieu. She published her first monograph, The Religion of Freelance Experts in the Roman Empire, with Oxford University Press in 2016. She is currently working on two monographs, provisionally entitled Paul, Mark, and Marcion’s Gospel and Braiding Ropes of Sand: The Composition of Christian Diversity. She is also co-editing the forthcoming T&T Clark Handbook to the Historical Paul with Ryan S. Schellenberg and the Oxford Handbook of the New Testament in the Roman Empire with Harry O. Maier and Emiliano Rubens Urciuoli. She has in addition published a multiplicity of articles. Congratulations Dr. Wendt! See more
