We recommend annual fecal testing in both adult dogs and cats to check for intestinal parasites. We also recommend fecal testing a couple of times in puppies and kittens, as they often have intestinal parasites. We will send home deworming medication with all of our puppies and kittens. If you are worried about intestinal parasites in your adult dog or cat, or your puppies or kittens, please give us a call! 416-752-5114

Worried about fleas? We have great preventions and treatments available! We do not recommend any non-prescription flea preventions or treatments (fleas collars, shampoos, sprays, topical pet store brands) as they often are not effective, and they can also be potentially dangerous to your pets health. Always consult a veterinarian if you are worried your pet has fleas, or you want to start a prevention. We offer both very safe topical and oral options for both cats and dogs! Fleas can be tricky, but the key is prevention! 416-752-5114

Happy Friday! The adorable Finley was in yesterday for his dental! He was such a brave boy for everything! He had his teeth cleaned, dental x-rays taken, and he had to have some teeth extracted as well. He is now home a recovering well!... Pets should have a physical exam done at least once per year, where we can have a look inside their mouth to look at their teeth. Dental health is very important for the overall health of pets! It is important to maintain pets teeth by brushing and/or diet, but we also recommend regular dental cleanings with us in order to preserve tooth health for as long as possible! We offer Optimum Care Wellness Plans that include dental cleanings! Give us a call today for more information on our plans, or if you have concerns with your pets teeth, and would like to book an appointment for an exam! 416-752-5114

With more businesses opening up lately, and more people are heading back to work. Pets will have to get used to their owners leaving the home again for longer periods of time. While some pets may be okay with this, other pets (especially puppies) may have developed something called separation anxiety. This is where a dog becomes stressed and anxious when they are away from their owners, as they have never gotten used to being apart from them. This can lead to destruction of the home, not eating, and they could even hurt themselves in the process of being stressed. It is important to get them used to being alone for longer periods of time slowly, before you head back to work. This will make for happier, more balanced dogs!

Dont leave your pet in the car when its hot out! Even a few minutes can be too long. Some alternatives being: - Leave them at home where its cool and safe. - Use drive-throughs for food when available... - Bring a friend who can watch your dog outside, while you run the errand. - Shop a pet-friendly stores, where your pet is allowed inside.
