I hope everyone had a magical (and safe) Christmas!! It sure was an intimate one, but it was more special than ever. More quality time with our closest loved ones was invaluable. Not to mention that Hallie and I were very spoiled!!

I actually can’t with this wedding!! @shannonbellisle and @evelynbarkeyphoto created a rustic modern fairytale for their @elopementweek couples and I am so happy I got to be apart of Melissa and Jesse’s special day! . Jesse was Ryan’s roommate through college and Melissa and I met through them, but also attended Laurier together. We’ve had some great times together and we were a little sad to not be able to share in their big day. They are the sweetest people and can’t wait to celebrate together soon! We wish you both (and your little-big Poppy ) the most amazing life together!!

This is one of two 3-tier cakes I had the pleasure of making since covid hit! At the beginning of 2020 I had nearly 40 weddings cakes on the books already. Most of which were 3-tiers; my favourite size! It is very sad looking back on what could have been, but it is what it is (The motto if 2020 )! That being said, as we head into a province wide lockdown, I beg of you to do your part and keep your distance . On a happier note!! You’ll have the option for mini or regular size depending on your household and appetite No judgement if you want a regular one and live alone! Should I watch all the Harry Potter movies again for the 5th time this year or finish the 6th book? (I’ve not read all the books yet...) . I was a horrible reader growing up (still sort of am), so when the books came out, I literally couldn’t read them. Once I could read a novel, most of the movies were out and I didn’t feel the need to. Anyway, fast forward to a couple years ago when I decided to read them! Still working through them , but almost there! (Disclaimer! I’m not actually that slow, I just don’t read a lot because I fall asleep instantly)

Let chat about cake ordering! . This can be a daunting or confusing task if you haven’t ordered a specialty cake before. Size, design, budget, flavour... where do you start?? Well, leave it up to me to guide you! .... If you haven’t already provided all the details in your first email, I will ask for the date the cake is required, how many guests you are expecting, whether there are any other desserts provided for larger parties or weddings, the occasion, and any style or design ideas you may have. It may seem like a lot and some people feel they are telling me too much, but the more I know, the more I can help! Always feel free to share inspiration pics if you have, but also make sure to include all the other details too! Can’t do much with just a pic! . A lot of people when ordering for the first time will ask for a specific size cake not knowing how many it serves. This is because when going to the supermarket, those are the only sizes offered (usually 8 or 10). Leave it to your cake designer to choose the size based on the number of guests and the design. Not all designs work with any cake size. This may mean a taller, more slender cake or a 2-tier to get your servings and keeping the design you want. I’ll do all the math for you, don’t worry! . When designing your cake, I will certainly provide options, opinions and use some creative freedom, but I will also always ask for photos. Every customer has a vision and that’s always best communicates by photo whether it is from my portfolio or Pinterest. Also when I ask for photos, it doesn’t always have to be of cakes!! It can be of flowers, your decor, invites, colours, etc. Some of the best cakes come from your invite design and my freedom! . After size and design are determined, a quote will be provided! If this works, we’ll move to choosing flavour, if not, let me know! It may be a matter of adjusting the design to better fit your budget. Happy Thanksgiving! There are too many things I am thankful for even with this crazy year... actually, especially with this crazy year! The support of not only my family and friends, but my amazing customers just fills my heart I could not do what I do without the loyalty of each one of you! Whether you order a cake form me every chance you get or just liking every one of my photos, I see you and I appreciate you so so very much! . On another note! I am so thankful for the little life that has come into my world! She drives me crazy sometimes and is more work than I ever imagined, but I love her so so much!

If this isn’t love, I don’t know what love is . I got to witness Amy snap a few photos of these cuties and there was no need to prompt them to whisper sweet nothings, they were already giggling and bursting with love! . So I kinda love cookies now! I was never a cookie person, always cakes, both baking and eating. With all these goodie boxes recently I’ve been having so much fun experimenting with cookies! The key to a good cookie is butter, butter and more butter! Plus some sugar and a lot of good flavouring. Happy Halloween Friends!! . Instead of handing out candy, we are having Halloween date night filled with all the sweets and junk food! I am so excited to just stuff my face and not feel bad about it cause that’s what Halloween is all about, right?!
