I just finished a webinar on the best body composition assessments. A take home message i would like to leave you with us that body composition testing done by certified professionals using valid and reliable equipment and equations should be done no more than three times a year in order to highlight accuracy and to find changes in percent body fat over time. So what does that mean for the average person? Do not spend your money on an at home body fat scale that are wildly in...accurate. If you already have one use it 1-3 times a year. Remember every method has inaccuracies so be aware of what the percent error is with the method you are using. So whatever you measure it could be + or - that percent error (look for 3.5% or lower). Conclusion 1: based on current evidence, the risk-to-benefit ratio favours the recommendation of physical activity for all cancer patients.... Conclusion 2: there is no evidence to support any absolute or relative contradictions to physical activity in adults diagnosed with cancer.
