Most therapists still believe that tissue damage is the source of their patient's pain....its time to reeducate ourselv...es that this is very likely not the case. PERIPHERAL NOCICEPTIVE SENSITIZATION is the term used to describe the sensitivity caused by the chronic artifacts of inflammation, which are simply your body's own immune cells, that for what ever reason, were not flushed out through the course of injury and healing. These artifacts are known to contribute to nerve sensitivity. At RAPID our is job is to desensitize these sensitive nerves. By stimulating the deepest fascia we cause a rush of neuroimmunological peptides which enable the tissues to flush these sensitizing artifacts. Bottom line- the tissue stops sending the nociceptive signal and your client stops hurting.
