I thought about posting photos of all the different mamas I've captured, but then it would be a post of hundreds and hundreds of photos because you're all so incredible in my eyes. You might notice the studio is going through some changes over the next few weeks in preparation for Spring & Summer. The burnt orange wall is gone and I re-painted it with a smudging technique using 3 separate colours. Quite the paint experiment but I'm loving the results and the room is feeling much brighter for the sunny days ahead. Installations and other things for the studio are still on their way, but it's getting there and will be finished by early March. Excited to welcome all my clients for intimate maternity, family centred newborn, and sitter/milestone sessions in this fresh space.

Yup, I went there. I ordered a portable change room. Now when you use dresses from my client closet for your outdoor sessions, you don’t have to worry about where to change. Especially expecting mamas for maternity sessions, it was so hard watching you struggle changing in your vehicles now I’ll be bringing a pop up change station to every outdoor session with me so you can play dress up on location! Stress free and no flashing randoms it also nails down to the ground in case it’s a windy day so it won’t blow away. How cool is that?!

I'm now taking bookings for Christmas Minis! I can't believe I'm even talking about Christmas right now, but so many of you have asked about them and since I'm booking regular sessions into December now, I figured I should get my butt in gear for Christmas. SO, here's the details: Saturday, November 21st will be held in West Kelowna from 12-3:30. Sunday, November 22nd will be held in Summerland (these promo photos are taken at the Summerland location). This is what my set up ...will look like PLUS there will be a mini Christmas tree with ornaments for the kids to decorate with - I just couldn't find one yet where I purchased my props stores are more focused on Halloween right now. Session fee is $175 (there is a $25 non-refundable retainer required to secure your booking which goes towards your final total). The sessions are 20 minutes long, but I'm only booking every 30 minutes that way I have some time in between to sanitize the props. There will also be hand sanitizer for clients to use before the session begins. The session fee includes 6 images of your choosing along with the option to purchase additional images if desired at $10/image. I will also be providing styling tips for what pairs best with this set up and my editing style. I've chosen this set up because it's what speaks to me and I love untraditional. To book please send me a message or e-mail [email protected] with what time slot you'd like (time slots will be written in the comments below and I will continue to update). From there I will require you to pay a $25 non-refundable retainer and sign an electronic contract to secure your booking. These will book extremely fast and from the requests I've already received, they will be in high demand. So I’m super excited about this. I get asked allllll the time, what do I wear? And I normally send out a colour pallet and a big, long story about what works and what doesn’t along with tips and tricks. Well, now I’ve converted all my tips into a simple, easy to follow 5 page PDF along with visuals/examples, links, shops, colours, things to consider and WHY, and a link to my customized vision board for even more family photo outfit inspiration. Today is the first day of Fall Autumn is actually my favourite season so I’m not even mad about it but WOW did summer ever zoom by. Goodbye long days spent at the lake, and late night golden hours. Hello Autumn tones, earlier nights (which means your littles who go to bed early can do golden hour sessions!) and pumpkin everyythannngggg

I have so many newborn sessions coming up this fall/winter I’m SO excited so many of you ask why I only do evening sessions. One of the reasons is because nothing beats golden hour lighting and I want my art to look consistent and feel proud of it. I will book a daytime session in the shade here and there if I absolutely need to (which will NOT be continuing in the New Year) - but my weekend daytimes are devoted to my maternity/newborn combo clients who have paid to reserve those spots I am on-call to them, and when I get the message baby’s here! I show up at their home the first weekend they’re home from the hospital. I am very careful not to overbook myself that way I don’t make my maternity/newborn clients wait. I photograph newborns in the first 10 days of being Earth side, and my clients deserve my full availability.

Ok, I'm having a poll and need your help! I have been getting soooo many messages asking if I'm doing THEMED Autumn or Christmas minis this year with an actual prop set up. And to be honest, I've been putting it off because I've been focusing on the sessions that are happening this month, but seems how my Golden Hours are booking into December now, I think I need to get my butt in gear. SO, here's the poll... if you had to choose ONE, which would you rather have? AUTUMN minis, or CHRISTMAS minis? Comment below please!! Bonus points if you add which part of the Okanagan you're in so I get an idea of which location has the most interest. Whichever gets the most votes, I'll put something together for it and start taking bookings once I have all the details in place!

Oh my goshhhhhhh how cute is this sweet girl's outfit! I had so much fun at the Sunflower Festival last weekend. Thanks to all the families who came out for sunflower minis, it was my first time going and you guys made it such a positive experience. Just a little update: My current turn around time for editing is about 3 weeks, and for weddings it's about 6 weeks. Between the "end of summer" bookings and getting ready for autumn, it's crazy busy over here, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
