Morson Bass International 04.12.2020

The MBI committee recently met to discuss the tournament. The number of teams and volunteers have significantly dropped since 2005. After weighing all the circumstances, the committee has decided that the Morson Bass International tournament has come to an end. THANK YOU to the anglers, volunteers, sponsors and the community for your support over the years.

It is sad news today to hear of the passing of former MP John Rafferty after an 18 month battle with leukemia. John attended several years during our tournament and would help collect plates and garbage. He supported our district with the long gun registry against his party. Our deepest sympathies to his family. He will be missed.

Obituary for Ronald Francis Mazur at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home Ronald Francis Mazur Ron of Wilmington formerly of Bedford Park passed away peacefully Tuesday evening January 15th. Ron was at his cabin on Big Shadow Lake overlooking the water with family when he passed. Beloved husband and fishing buddy of Sue for 18 years. Loving father of Keith, Barry Jr., Buddy (Ricel) and Kimberly. Dearest Pine Pine and grandpa of Gabriel, Sophia, Ethan, Hayley, Clark and Dean. Precede...d in death by his loving wife, Cindy, and devoted parents Frank and Anna Mazur. Son-in-law and dear friend of Richard and the late Barb Zebleckis. Fun loving brother-in-law of Cheryl, Julie, Nancy, Beverly (Mark) and Allison (Dave). Fun loving uncle to Brad, Jeff, Amy, Justin, Mark, Louie Jr. & Sam. Loving and devoted to many special cousins. Ron "Mr. Mazur" was a fixture among the halls of Argo Community High School for over 33 years, teaching physical education & coaching Basketball, Tennis, Swimming, and Badminton. Proud of his Master’s Degree in education, but not too proud to keep the staff and student body of ACHS on their toes with his constant pranking and outgoing sense of humor. Lastly Ron was thought of as more than a pal, or friend to his fishing buddies, they shared a bond deep inside, a quiet understanding, a resolve that only a fisherman could feel and he will be deeply missed and remembered. His love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and his friends and family will continue on in all of us like ripples in the water after a perfectly placed cast! Visitation Sunday January 20th from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, chapel service at 2:00PM at The Palos Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 South Southwest Highway (7700 West) Palos Hills Illinois. Interment Private.
