Move To Improve

Move To Improve is a mix of movement, sensory and balance based activities for Preschool; Grade School; Businesses; Seniors; Care Centers and People with Disabilities.

Thought I should explain the cover of the new book: top left is an Autistic child stacking some cans; top right is a sensory park in China (I think), this park has climbing rocks, various sensory tactile surfaces (rough, smooth, soft hard, sand etc); climbing frames; a merry go round or roundabout as we used to call them (which are being removed from parks here in Canada) and an excellent sensory environment for children to explore. Bottom left is a sensory park walkway with ...various walking surfaces such as grass, uneven surfaces, a water path, tactile touch fencing and walls in a beautiful nature setting. Bottom right are children using ABS balls, children develop their core muscles, balance skills and all the other sensory inputs kids need in the early years of development. OK, off and running with my newest book cover "MOVE TO IMPROVE - DISABILITIES IN CHILDREN AND ADULTS" This book takes the "Move To Improve" movements and activities and adapts them for people with disabilities. In the past few weeks I have been approached by parents of children with disabilities to see if I could help them; which I did. This took me back about 25 years when I was doing some contract building work in a daycare and the kids used to come and ask me what I was do...ing; I gladly showed them. The daycare supervisor came to me one day and told me that I had a gift to work with children who were struggling and normally would not engage in daycare activities; that's how I got started as an Early Childhood Educator. At the time I thought I was crazy, giving up a well paid job to go back to college and once trained earn a wage a third of what I could earn in my trades. Passion to help others who are struggling drives me to pass on some of my life experiences; so, here is the cover of my new book; inside content coming in a week or so. Hi Everyone, Just updating the "Move To Improve" website at: http://movetoimprove.ca/ I added a video and my newest book "Move To Improve" Adult Day Care Centers. I am working on a "Move To Improve" Train The Trainer course which may take me a month or so to get up and running. I am looking for a reasonably priced room, preferably in Calgary to hold the course; probably a 9am to 3pm all day Saturday course; the course cost (maybe $50) will be determined by the overheads to put on the course .
