Simply utilizing end range strength training to expand range AND strength so that those ranges are usable and resilient. She is getting STRONG!!!! The last word that in my current opinion is the most important in terms of your ability to achieve success in your physical practice is INTENTION. Intention forces you to be present and in the moment. What is your intention for your physical practice that day? What is your intention for each rep and set of the movement you are about to do? Go further what is your intention for the meal you are about to consume, the conversation you are about to have, the work you are about ...to do? I think you are doing yourself a HUGE disservice to just mindlessly go through a movement or workout. The real magic begins when you not only try to understand the intention of a movement, but truly immerse yourself in it. Hitting a certain number of sets or reps is a far second to being intentional with each and every phase of each and every movement. When you understand the reason for the movement, the reason for the tempo/rep/sets it changes the quality of the movement and the quality of the movement is far greater than hitting a certain number of reps or sets to just get it done. The real secret to change and learning is to approach each and every single movement in your physical practice with deep intention. You are going to put the time and the work into this, make it meaningful. Get the most out of every moment. Each rep becomes more meaningful spending a little more time in your weakest part, trying to get just a little deeper and expanding range just a little more. Each rep provides a new opportunity to get 1% better. What is your intention for your physical practice? What is your intention for the day/week/month/year? What is your intention for the movement? After years of experimenting, learning and failing over and over, I’ve come to learn that there are 3 very important words that you must keep in mind in order to achieve success in your physical practice. The first word is ‘CONSISTENCY'. I’ve said this many times to my trainees - "this is a game of millimetres not inches and we’re playing the long game here. Consistency to push through the good days and the bad. Consistency to push through the plateaus and the regressions before you can progress. Consistency to push through the boring because sometimes just on the other side of boring is beautiful as @lucy.rupert would say. Any guesses as to the other two words?

Discussing strength outside of the context of range is like discussing money outside of the context of currency. Further, the more that I learn and experiment, the more I anchor my beliefs that we need to be blurring the lines of strength and mobility. I do believe that strength is the mother of all qualities and is critically important if you want a high quality of life and experience everything this meat vehicle of ours has to offer but I’m astonished at how few are doi...ng this correctly. I followed the masses and did what most do and did major damage to my body. Don’t do what the majority are doing or you’ll end up like the majority (not good). Sure I looked decent but I couldn’t move. Everything hurt. I couldn’t reach my arms over my head, I couldn’t squat because my knees hurt and I sure as shit couldn’t come anywhere close to touching my toes. I just thought oh well I’m just not mobile. No amount of stretching that I did was changing anything Man was I wrong! I now know that a joint that isn’t mobile likely means it is weak and susceptible to injury.
