I'm sure a lot of you are wondering what happens to us here at Munroe Dental starting on November 12th. Quick answer, NOTHING! We have applied and maintained the highest levels of protection for both our patients as well as our highly valued employees. We will continue to practice the highest levels of infection control, maintain social distancing for our patients in our reception area and screen patients as they enter our doors. We are here for you!

It’s a bittersweet day today at Munroe Dental Centre. We all knew this day was coming, but never believed it would truly happen. We are saying a farewell to Marion as she embarks on the next chapter in her life; Retirement! There is no way to properly convey our thanks for her wisdom, kindness, humour and giving nature. Marion, you will be greatly missed! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and Congratulations on your retirement!

Dear valued patients, We have missed you! We hope that during these few months you and your families have kept safe and well.... Since mid-March we have followed directions from the government and the Manitoba Dental Association and restricted our practice of dentistry. As of June 1, we are allowed to reopen and begin treating our wonderful patients. During our time off we have made changes to the way we operate to help protect staff and patients. You may notice, at times, we will look like we are wearing space suits--be assured that it is still your same friendly Munroe Dental Centre team member underneath! This means that you can now be seen by appointment ONLY for *all your dental needs *check-ups and cleanings There are some important updates and changes to our operating policies. Over the next few weeks a member of our team will contact you to reschedule any services that were postponed. We kindly ask that you be patient and allow us time to catch up. Patients are now screened by telephone before the appointment is booked and are not given an appointment if they have Covid -19 symptoms. They are pre-screened again once they enter the office. We ask that you wear a mask when entering the clinic if you have one. Cloth masks work well. Patients must sanitize their hands when entering the clinic. Hand sanitizer is provided. The safety of our team members and patients is very important to us. As such, we will continue to follow all regulatory standards by having extensive cleaning protocols and wearing appropriate PPE to the highest standards. There are also newly installed air purifiers in the rooms. Reception area changes *we now have a CLOSED WAITING ROOM policy. When you arrive please remain outside the clinic, and use your cell phone to call us. A staff member will call/text you and let you in when it is safe to do so * we are a cashless office--use of credit card or debit is preferred * we ask that only the patient is taken into the treatment room * nothing other than a purse or other valuable is allowed into the treatment rooms As we begin to reopen and get back into a new routine office hours may be shorter. This will be a temporary measure to ensure your safety. If you have any questions, or to schedule an appointment, please email us at [email protected] or call 204-667-2038. Due to higher than normal call volumes we may not be able to answer the phone right away. Please be patient with us and we will get back to as soon as we can. Your dental health is important to us and important to your overall well being. We look forward to welcoming everyone back! Dear patients and families of the Munroe Dental Centre, Thanks to Manitobans working hard to follow public health guidelines, it was announced last week that certain non-essential businesses, including dental clinics, are permitted to begin re-opening as of May 4. My team and I are developing an opening plan that will offer services in a safe way that complies with the guidelines and regulations set by our regulatory body. Your experience will be different when our office op...ens and we are working hard to ensure we have the proper personal protective equipment and schedule patients in a manner that allows proper social distancing. It will take us extra time before we are ready to open our doors. If you have an upcoming appointment, please continue to assume it is postponed until we contact you to confirm. We are still available for our existing patients to help you with any emergencies or dental concerns. If you have any questions, we are available to help and can be reached at [email protected] and (204)667-2038. Best wishes and stay safe! Dr. Sheryl and the Munroe Dental Centre Team

Here is an outline of what we, Munroe Dental Centre, are doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and what you should be doing. What we are doing - Our team is receiving on-going briefings to maintain the most relevant level of knowledge.... - We are updating out operation protocols continuously to be in line with the latest information. - We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas (including door handles, public washrooms, etc.) and continue to use hospital-grade disinfectant. - Common areas such as reception area and doorknobs are wiped down every hour throughout the day. - We have increased the availability of antibacterial hand sanitizers for use by patient and staff. - To reduce the likelihood of spreading illness, we are asking employees to stay home at the first sign of illness (fever, cough, sore throat, etc.) What you can do - We're asking any patients who have any signs of illness to please reschedule their appointments. Patients who present themselves with any signs of symptoms of illness will be asked to have their appointments rescheduled. In case of emergencies, please discuss with your dentist or a team member so that we can evaluate and address the situation on a case-by-case basis. - Cancellation fees will be waived for the time being. - We have provided hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes at our clinic. Please feel free to use them when you visit our clinic. We remind you that the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to wash your hands and avoid touching your face. If you have any questions, please let us know. In the meantime, thank you and stay healthy!

On this day, 56 years ago, Dr. Arnold Kapitz opened the Munroe Dental Centre. We are incredibly proud to have become a staple in this community, and are very grateful for our wonderful patients trusting us with their care. Here are a few throw back photos of our doctors, Dr. Arnold and Dr. Sheryl, on their first days of practicing. You will also see a photo of our original location in the mall as well as our current location. And you may also recognize in the last photo a lovely lady on the end who has become the office constant. We are very lucky to have you, Marion!
