I remember one time when I was on an old nutrition coaching program, someone in the community said: My goal is to still have abs when I sit down At the time I was like, oh ya. What a great goal! I totally would love that too. ... Now it literally makes me laugh out loud. LOL. Now, at the time I also wasn’t happy with my body in general. And so of course I am not happy with the way my body looks when I sit. Now, I don’t care. What’s changed? I don’t have a six pack. I sure as well don’t when I sit down. My actions & balance has changed. You don’t gain confidence in yourself by looking in the mirror and see a bicep vein or an extra abdomen. No one has ever seen a sixth ab and was like Yup. This is it. I now truly and fully love myself. You gain confidence in yourself by gaining confidence in your actions. If you know you’re doing everything you can to make your body look and feel the best it can, you won’t care about your love handles, or the way your jeans don’t fit perfectly. Because you’ll then know your body is a true reflection of health. These days I: Track my food Prioritize my veggies Eat 140-150g of protein every day Drink 2.5 L of water every day Sleep 8 hours every night Walk >7000 steps daily Lift 4 times a week All while having meetings, phone calls, coaching, growing a business, being a girlfriend, a dog mom, a cat mom... Not a humble brag(I h8 humble bragging). Simple to show that you can have it all. A busy, productive lifestyle and a healthy one. And my body is a reflection of this effort. So, I’m happy when I sit down in a crop top. Things like: drinking more water moving your body more eating your vegetables... eating enough protein building knowledge and awareness around your food sleeping enough lifting heavy things and doing it all consistently... Has given our members: more energy clearer mind increased productivity and success at work increased sex drive weight loss and muscle growth better hair clearer skin confidence at work, in their relationships, in themselves the ability to make better decisions Yes, I’m a weight loss coach. But my practise is holistic. And weight loss is one of the many benefits of living a life focused on healthy habits and behaviours. It’s important to remember that you do not have to stick to one train of thought... loving yourself at where you are OR wanting to change and be better. They are not meant to be opposing thoughts. Check it out here MEMBER'S TIPS Jax participated in our Brighter Days Challenge to get a kick start to losing her pregnancy weight. After 3 months of working with Robyn post-challenge, she hit her goal weight on the last day of her cut AND is continuing to lose weight after. We're kicking off our members tips with three helpful ones from Jax: 1. Increasing food intake helped me get the weight loss moving after months of following my old low macro numbers without results. I was surprised how much I could take in and still lose weight! I was shocked that over 50% of my results came while increasing my food intake. 2. Weight spikes/fluctuations are part of the process. It was far from a flat line from start to finish! 3. More is not always better when it comes to exercise. COACH'S TIP Here's an awesome coach tip from our new BODZii Coach Megan: "I drink bubbly water out of a wine glass. I love wine or a good cocktail. Having a drink while cooking, with dinner, after dinner it all adds up. To give myself that experience on a random day and not derail my progress, I pull out my favorite glass, pour in the bubbles and cheers to my clever fancy self." When you go through a cut, or when you start to decrease your calories with the intention of losing weight, do you have a harder time keeping a positive relationship with food? What I mean is, do you all of a sudden crave things that you didn’t necessarily crave before just because you can no longer have them? This 100% happens to me every single time. And if I can boil it down to one thing, this is probably the one thing that prevents me from being as dialled in as I wo...uld like to be. As soon as I tell myself I’m going to dial it in, I want to eat the entire world. It’s so frustrating! SO, I was thinking. I was thinking about how I could reframe the way I think and look at these types of foods when I’m on a cut or deciding to be a little more precise with my intake. We have to stop saying to ourselves I can’t have this food because. The word ‘can’t’ all of sudden means that the food is bad. And we all want what we can’t have. What if instead we started asking ourselves a questions instead? I can have this food, but is it going to help me get to my goal? If you ALLOW yourself the food but then ask yourself if having it is going to move you forward, you all of a sudden take the power away from food and you regain control. So, try it. It’s no longer I can’t. It’s I can, but What are your thoughts? The funny thing about these small habits is that they can easily get pushed to the side and be seen as unimportant because of their size. In the moment, hitting snooze or staying up to finish a project might seem like the right thing or better thing to do. But is it? The thing about small habits is that they’re there to build trust in yourself as you build a foundation. They act as a catalyst into other bigger habits that might need creating down the line. Acting on small habits consistently drives success. So next time you’re about to skip your morning walk because it doesn’t seem important, think again! And get out there . t’s the weekend!! Binge eating? We’ve all been there It may be tempting to pick up your phone and Uber Eats your fav fast food after a night out - but those bad habits may be what’s holding you back from achieving your fitness goals. So HOW do you stop the cravings?... Below BODZii nutritionist Zeynep Emre Cam - Nutritionist shares 4 ways to stop binge eating! 1- Balance your meals and meal timing throughout the day. Don't wait to feel extremely hungry to eat your food. Have 3-4 hours between your meals . when you become too hungry your blood sugar level is also low and that makes you to eat more. 2- Do not restrict yourself and dont go for a quick fixes, detox diets etc. Those diets usually restrict lots of food groups and if you have an overeating issue, that makes the case worst. 3- Do not label certain food groups bad. Our brain wants what's forbidden more. That's why when you label it and forbid, you're more likely to crave it. 4- if your overating is emotion related, you find yourself eating without control after a very long stressful days, and that happens often, don;t be afraid to seek help. Struggling to lose that last 5 lbs!? STUBBORN isn’t it!? In order to get that last 5 lbs, we have to take a look at what you might be doing to prevent it from coming off. Below BODZii CEO Robyn Shaw shares 5 things you might be doing to prevent that last bit of weight loss!... 1 Not tracking your food. Do you KNOW for sure if you’re in a caloric deficit? Are you tracking your food each day to make sure you’re staying in a caloric deficit? 2 Over consuming snacks. The things you snack on throughout the day are usually the reason for slow progress. Make sure your meals are planned out and intentional. Put FOCUS into eating! 3 Sleeping to little. Sleep is a huge factor in weight loss, especially the last little bit. Get your 7-8 hours 4 Losing motivation. You wake up one AM and you’re not happy with what you see in the mirror so you have a screw it day. First off, you look amazing. Second, don’t let a stupid mirror prevent you from seeing all the other amazing progress you’ve made. 5 Drinking too little. Little water equals lots of bloat. Get your 2-3 litres in each day!
