You don’t have to look too far into Coniston to find people who know and love this month’s spotlight recipient. Whether you know her as the Mayor of Coniston or Mom it’s hard to find someone more passionate about the people and community of Coniston than Stella Legault. Stella grew up in the small community of St. Charles and moved to Coniston as an adult. She also moved outside of our borders to enjoy country life for a little while as an older adult, but her heart never...Continue reading
Power outage across the Greater Sudbury area. No news on what's going on or when power will be restored.
Update : Those responsible for this incident have been located. Thank you to those that made it possible to identify the responsible! This will not be tolerated. If you know anything about who may be doing this, please call Linda.
And the safety fencing is in! The fencing was funded through the City Council approved HCI grant that I applied for as the lead for the Coniston Playground Ass...ociation. The new sensory equipment will be the next thing to come; installation date is still pending. I am so excited about this Age and Ability Inclusive Park project! I am also over joyed for all the people who can now come to Centennial Park in Coniston and not worry about their children running off or into the road. Can't wait to see you all there! See more

Instead of the usual Yard Sale, Coniston Community Garden is hosting a socially distant Silent Auction on Facebook. Start prices are indicated for each item (see photos), 1$ increments for most items. Make your bid, come back to check on the items you really want by adding to the total to make sure you are the highest bidder at the end of the week. Don't be afraid to outbid your neighbour if you really want the items, this is a fundraiser for our garden friends!
Aujourd'hui, 25 septembre, c'est la journée des Franco-Ontariens! Joyeuse journée des Francos et de notre drapeau franco-ontarien!

Yum! What a great idea! (even better since you can stay in your PJs!)
Big Brothers Big Sisters is offering a program for young men called Game ON! It's a group mentoring program for boys ages 10-16 that focuses on physical activity, balanced eating, and self-esteem. The single, most important goal of the program is to positively shape the lives of young men and boys by helping them build a positive self-image setting them on a path to reach their full potential in life. With everything going on through COVID, it might be helpful to some families.
Looking for a part-time job in the area?
At last night's meeting, we discussed Pickle Ball. For those who are looking for a court to play and other people to connect with, perhaps this might be for you? (it's not too far away from Coniston...)
Looking for a new path to follow?
Yes, you read that right. We are allowed to have you back and we're excited about it!
Coming to a street near you!
What a fun way to stay active at home! If AFSN were safe to run this summer, this is definitely something we would have been enjoying together! Miss you all very much and am hoping for brighter days!
