West.Coast.Soul Reason number one I always have my phone or camera with me... I was taking a break from hauling firewood yesterday and sitting on a log that was further out on the beach towards the water. I heard rustling in the bush behind me and it actually wasn't a bird this time. Two wolves poked their heads out. I was clearly right in front of their trail to the beach. The younger of the two ducked back into the forest but the older came out and trotted down to the next ...trail she wanted to access. She took note of me, but I just let her do her thing and pass on by. They mean no harm and as long as we aren't encouraging contact or enticing them with food, they will leave us alone as well. The only time I actively push them away is when they are approaching (it's always been out of curiosity) or coming up towards our cabin or yard. Wolves are able to learn territories and boundaries with humans if we are consistent and it seems to be working well with this pack.
