It is with a heavy heart that we post this in support of a Nai family who tragically lost their son/brother. Our thoughts, love and prayers are with this family. Our heart breaks for their loss. Please donate and share if you are able. https://gf.me/u/yp6t5r
First snow fall yesterday means the Holiday Season is almost here! We are lining up activities to make it wonderful starting with this art workshop open to all Nai Choir members. Sign up with Nadeen ([email protected]) if you are interested to participate.
Which instrument makes this sound? Comment below if you know
Giving a child access to creative tools is giving them power to explore, learn and cultivate artistic skills which would otherwise go unrealized. Last year we added media arts to Nai programming whereby the children use cameras in activities like scavenger hunts to capture objects in their surroundings. We are amazed by how involved they get while shifting roles in photography, videography or being picture subjects. It is this holistic approach to making creative skills realized among refugee and newcomer children that makes Nai work needful. Support us today by donating through the link below to enable our 5th year reach even more children. https://www.canadahelps.org///campaign/happy-birthday-nai/
Sending you instrumental sounds from Nai Choir to begin your week on a musical note. Even though we cannot have in-person sessions anymore, we are offering instrumental classes online. Take advantage of this free access to learn piano, recorder flute, buzouk and drums from talented musicians. Happy new week!
Birthday wishes to Nadeen Shaban (right) one of our founding members and Program Coordinator. Just as pictured here Nadeen always brings warmth to our team, builds a personal relationship with the choir members (like with Julia on the left), celebrates the children as they make milestones and ensures every little detail in our programming comes perfectly to life. We appreciate all that you do and wish you good health and abundant joy in your new year. Happy birthday
Ysabelle taught us last session how to measure rhythm in music using beats. Beats are what makes you shake your head, tap your foot or snap your fingers. What better song to learn from than our personal favourite ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ by Justin Timberlake. If you are a newcomer or refugee in GTA, your child is always welcome to learn music in a fun easy way with us.
