My daughter, Logan's, first duck hunt. She woke up at 3am, she got her pink sprinkle donuts and strawberry milk, then we headed to the blind. We are thankful f...or great friends who invited her on this hunt and allowed us use of this blind. No shots fired, but she did get to see some woodies land in the decoys and fly over. She was a trooper and I can't wait for more of these mornings. ~ Christy Langston See more

Volunteering during COVID-19 Many Nova Scotians are stepping up to help other people in their communities. The NOAAH Registry is back, and making efforts to connect individuals to further develop the conservation community. If you’re volunteering, make sure you’re keeping yourself and the people you’re mentoring safe by following the guidelines set out by the Province of Nova Scotia and the Health Protection Act Order. (Links Below) . Don’t participate in a match if you’re... sick or if you’ve been directed to self-isolate. If you’re a senior or if you’re immunocompromised, you should avoid volunteer roles that involve interacting with other people. Follow social distancing rules as much as you can Mentors and Mentees should not travel together, rather arrange for a common meeting area outdoors. Wash or sanitize your hands often. If equipment is being shared, wash hands before and after use, as well as sanitize equipment after each meeting. When you are matched through the NOAAH Registry, please proceed at your own comfort level. Virtual meetings, and email conversations may help in the introductory stage. Mentors and Mentees should discuss safety measures together and predetermine what steps to take before meeting in person. Any organized outings must follow the sector specific plans of the agreed upon location (Parks/Ranges/Events/Stores). Please be sure to research these before arriving. Both parties should feel comfortable and safe, respecting all safety requests. Although masks are not provincially mandated for this activity the request to wear one should be respected. As restrictions ease the NOAAH Registry matching process remains below the provincial guidelines, limiting one Mentor matched to no more than 4 people at one time. Individual Mentor/Mentee matches can remain on a one-on-one bases as well and do not need to involve all Mentees at once. #noaahregistry
