Back to School with the Community Table and the Foundation Great news from Andrea Loohuizen, Executive Director at the Community Table. Supported by a grant fro...m the Foundation, she was able to create 350 back to school kits, containing hand sanitizer, masks, wipes and more. The kits were distributed to families connected to Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Community Table. But that’s not all. Thanks to the generosity of the community, Community Table was able to deliver some 300 masks to each of five local schools! Many of the masks were donated. Andrea says Principals were visibly moved by this expression of love and support from the community. Reflecting on the challenges and opportunities of COVID, she adds, Sometimes we get stuck doing things a certain way and don’t feel we need to change. This year, we couldn’t do that, and I learned that it’s okay to go outside the box!

We are so excited to host our first ever outside service this Sunday at 6:30!! Everyone welcome!

We got to drop off our first round of masks today to our schools! Thank you everyone for your support in this amazing project!

If you have kids going back to school and need some support please come see us! We want to do anything we can to help support our littlest humans as they embark on this uncertain times. We have some back to school kits available for pickup at the store for any families that might need a little help! If you are struggling with food insecurity we are also here with food hampers Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30. If you need food on another day please come in and see us when the store is open and we will do everything we can to help you. We are all in this together.

Hello friends!! We have some exciting things happening right now that we would love to share with you and ask for your support! First!! ... This year to help our little humans we support we have teamed up with Amy Wilhelm and Big Brothers and Big Sisters to hand out back to school kits. These kits will have two masks, hand sanitizer, a special bag as well as some extra treats to give to as many kids as possible. We will be giving them to our families that both agencies support as well as making sure all three elementary schools in South Huron have some to pass out as well. Our goal is to have 300 kits to hand out! How can you help? Well first off if you know anyone who makes masks please share this with them! Second of all, if you would like to sponsor a child the cost for one kit will be 20.00. We also have a couple families in crisis right now that have reached out and need some financial help for rent and other necessities. We are at the downtown building (the Dinney building) and we are in desperate need of people to carry boxes and load vehicles. We also don’t have a lot of trucks to help load. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you Huron County Food Bank Distribution Center for all the wonderful produce and food today! Our families were so happy to have their food hampers overflowing with fresh produce, eggs, milk and so many other wonderful things!

Thank you Grand Bend Community Foundation for your amazing donation of our new fridges! Because of this donation we are able to safely store all the food we need to make up our hampers every week to feed the many families in need in South Huron and surrounding area. Aren’t they beautiful!
