I’m guessing Peri is short for periwinkle, which is a bluish-purplish flower.... I fancy myself a bit of a cook and I always appreciate a fancy kitchen appliance, so I couldn’t pass up these Wolfgang Puck Spice Mills when I saw them. I just have to tip them upside down and they start grinding automatically, but that’s not even the best part.. they light up!... That’s right!! The base lights up so you can see exactly how much spice is going into your dish or onto your plate. I’m looking forward to putting these guys to work so feel free to share any tasty recipes you have.

February marks Black History Month in both the US and Canada. Founded by African-American historian Carter G. Woodson, what we now know as Black History Month originally started as one week in February set aside to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of Black Americans. Celebrated unofficially in Canada for decades, a motion introduced in 1995 by MP Jean Augustine sought to officially recognize Black History Month across Canada. The motion passed in the House of Commons unanimously. People of the African diaspora have a long and rich history in Canada worth celebrating, so this Black History Month let’s take some time to recognize and celebrate this history along with the contributions of Black Canadians.
