Thank-you so much for the kind words of support expressed to the Okanagan Jewish Community. Although a horrendous event, it is the sympathetic and supportive words that gives us strength to deal with the tragedy. United together and with God’s help, we will all be able to survive these events, and grow stronger together. Thank-you again, Steven Finkleman... President, Okanagan Jewish Community Kelowna

All Tickets available at the door.) The Okanagan Jewish Community Association presents An Evening with The Boys This 2009 documentary tells the story of the Sherman Brothers (Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman) -- the most prolific songwriting duo in Hollywood history, composing many of the world’s best-known and best-loved songs. For more than 60 years and over 50 films, this sensational songwriting team collaborated to create Academy and Grammy award-winning music for stage, screen, theme parks, and the hit parade. Hired and mentored personally by Walt Disney, the Shermans' musical style was accordingly family-friendly, happy, and hopeful. The classic scores of Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and the ubiquitous song, It's a Small World (After All) are among the cornerstones of their enduring legacy. Behind the scenes, however, the Sherman boys were infinitely more complex. Their creative genius was borne of a surprising and longstanding estrangement. Narrated by the brothers, the film is filled with beloved favourite songs and stories, and a cavalcade of brilliant actors and musicians that they inspired. Produced and directed by their sons, Gregory and Jeff Sherman, this film explores the drama behind the magic. Join filmmaker Gregory Sherman for an interesting and informative discussion following the screening. OJC Film Series The Boys with special guest, director Gregory Sherman Thursday, November 8, 2018 Doors open at 6:30pm, Movie begins at 7:30pm Okanagan College Theatre room S104, Kelowna Tickets are limited.
