Case counts are climbing. Hospitals are under stress. Schools are high risk. People are scared. And Doug Ford thinks everything is okay. He's wrong. Before we ease restrictions, let's fund hospitals, reduce class sizes and bring the numbers down.

I talk to a lot of business owners and they agree how important it is that we do all we can to fight COVID - this lockdown will be painful for them and their em...ployees though. They need help. Had Doug Ford listened to the advice of Ontario’s top doctors and got this under control in October, we wouldn’t be in this mess. Thousands of businesses are closed because Doug Ford didn’t act when the doctors asked him to. Many small businesses earn a large chunk of their revenue during the Holidays. This year they’ve been asked to close their doors. Those entrepreneurs are going to need support from the government. Not just tiny tax refunds, but real money to cover payroll and bills. This is going to be a difficult Holiday season for workers too. People are working incredibly hard to put food on the table this year. Many can’t afford to miss a paycheck by isolating if they get sick. Paid sick leave needs to be made available to ALL workers so they don’t feel forced to show up to work sick. We need to focus on slowing the spread of COVID, and helping businesses survive. Lives and livelihoods are on the line. Doug Ford needs to step up and lead us through this crisis. We can’t afford any more inaction or half-measures.
