Today is a day to reflect on what we are thankful for. Take a minute to ignore what 2020 has been like and instead reflect on those positives that are still plentiful. I am thankful for my wonderful families who year after year trust in me to help their child begin their educational journey.

Today I wear an orange shirt to create awareness of the individual, family and community intergenerational impacts of Indian Residential Schools. I'll never forget the day my daughter came home and told me all about it. I had no idea, it wasn't taught back in my elementary school days. I'm glad to know that the truth is no longer being hidden away and that the next generations are being educated about this atrocity so that we will never let something like this happen again.

Would it be easier to just go buy each child a new pack of crayons? Absolutely! But there is so much waste in this world already, so here I sit sorting through more then 100 crayons for each child to have their own art supply container. What can you do to reduce your family's waste impact, for the health of our planet?
