HAPPY NEW YEAR! We are delighted to present you with the 5th issue of Pak Pioneers E-Newsletter! Hope you and your family stay safe & healthy.
As per our tradition, Pak Pioneers Community Organization celebrated the Birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Founder of Pakistan on Friday, December 25th through a virtual gathering. President Dr. Masoom Shah thanked all the members who participated and shared their views on the occasion. Thank you to Ms. Shagufta Awan, Ms. Sadaf Bozai and Mr. Abdullah Sheikh for presenting patriotic songs and Mr. & Mrs Tehsin for playing guitar at the occasion. Professor Ashraf Bokhari addressed the audience with a brief speech on the life of Quaid-e-Azam and a cake cutting ceremony was also held. Everyone enjoyed the chance to join in the celebration, from the comfort of their homes and appreciated Pak Pioneers for organizing the event.
On November 9th 2020, Pak Pioneers Community Org Board members gave a curbside courtesy visit to Seniors friends in Mississauga and Brampton who have been unable to join in our events and meetings due to limited mobility and restrictions during Covid-19 pandemic. They were very happy and excited to see us and highly appreciated the efforts made by Pak Pioneers to help reduce the isolation these Seniors are experiencing. SOPs were strictly followed. It is a very humble effort initiated by Pak Pioneers to encourage friends to connect with their friends, (following SOPs) so no one feels isolated.
On November 4th, 6th and 8th 2020,Pak Pioneers Community Org Board members gave curbside courtesy visit to Senior friends in Mississauga who have been unable to join in our events and meetings due to limited mobility and restrictions during Covid-19 pandemic. Pak Pioneers Community Organization organized an information session for the Seniors group On November 10th. Topic of the session was PREVENTION OF FRAUD .. how to protect your Money presented by Chris Allum of Ontario Securities Commission. It was a very informative presentation with reference to the scams and frauds happening during Covid-19 pandemic. All the attendees were appreciative of the knowledge they received to protect themselves from frauds and scams.
Pak Pioneers Community organization of Canada hosted their "Musical Night & Dinner" in collaboration with NHSP on October 9th, 2020. Awards were given to the members and volunteers to recognize their valuable services. All attendees enjoyed the dinner, entertainment and music. Federal Member of Parliament, MP Peter Fonseca, along with many prominent community leaders attended the event and appreciated the hard work and time put in by the PPCOC Board of Directors, Advisory Committee and volunteers to help seniors get out of isolation and enjoy their time at the event while following all SOPs and safety precautions. Community Service awards were also presented to individuals who are working hard to serve the community.
