This week I have started almost every day doing yoga, meditation and saying positive affirmations out loud by the water with my children as part of our homeschool curriculum. My body and my mind have never felt better. I feel calmer, less anxious, less stressed, less physical pain in my joints. Grateful for the opportunity to lead by example on self care and in-still these practices in my children early on.... Prioritizing self care has always been challenging for me as an over achiever, strong Black woman archetype. So everyday I do this is a huge success. Reminding you that everyday you take time to self care you have succeeded. Little wins are still wins

Everytime I see these posts all I can say is thank you God that I’m choosing to homeschool no matter how much of challenge it might be as my husband and I are still working full time. When you are raising Black children the world stays reminding you the COVID isn’t the only pandemic you need to protect your family from. Too happy that I have the freedom to keep my kids from long days in masks, or in front of a screen with potentially racist teachers teaching their white supremist curriculum. Black liberation starts with educating your babies in the right environment and building the right mindsets as early as possible.

Shoutouts to @bosschicks for this eye opening reminder that we all have our own purpose and journey. Our purpose and place will be revealed in its own time, but it should never hinder us from helping others to find theirs when we can. I sometimes used to feel frustrated but now I’ve grown and I realize that anyone I helped grow into their purpose I feel blessed to have contributed... even those who I don’t care for it’s all part of the journey so just embrace it and enjoy
