If the terrible Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 has taught us anything, surely it’s the lesson of what we should really hold dear, the things that really matter, family, friends, community, camaraderie, a sense of belonging. As so many people have unfortunately discovered this year, once those things we all took for granted are taken away from us it can soon become a pretty miserable and lonely existence. And when that happens, no amount of material possessions can adequately fill the void. Do any of us really need more ‘stuff’? Our homes are already full of clothes we don’t wear, books we don’t read, gadgets and gizmos we don’t use. So this year forget Santa Claus. Think Santa Paws! Instead of presents, ask your family and friends to contribute to your LAW fundraising appeal. If you can’t all be together, you can still all do something together.
