As the transition to black and white happens, I think about past musings that I have inadvertently abandoned... I one said that I believe life is a delicate gift, one that breaks apart as we move and grow. These fragments [each] represent possibilities, potential timelines whose precipitation depends on the difference in the strenght of our fears versus that of our desires. I once wondered how many possible versions of me, how many gifts have I squandered by neglecting to me...assure these differences? Too many to count. But as I continue to move through life, more pieces will fall and make themselves the splinters that I, or others, need to achieve greatness. And whilst I need to remember what I once said, I must continue moving forward for the sake of those splinters.

Throwback to before the facial injury and the long hair. My scar is almost invisible, but the memory is intact. The memory is a reminder that things can and often do change in an instant. My pessimism has always served me well in that it prepares me for the worst possibility whilst working towards the best possible outcome.... No, pessimism isn’t the same as negativity, on the contrary; it is as Seneca saw it, a pragmatic way of understanding that life can sometimes turn awry. It is a vehicle for resilience, and avenue to mastery.
