Greetings to our Membership and Friends of The PIDIM. On December 20, 2020, Professional Member Elise Brownlee, her husband Jason (Jay), and their daughter Lilah were happily delivering holiday treats to their family and friends in Winnipeg and ended it with a 911 call because Jay couldn’t speak. The next few days were filled with fear, sadness, and anger as they learned that Elise’s husband and best friend had a large brain tumour that needed immediate surgery. It was cancer...ous. Anyone who knows Elise knows that she is a kind, happy and funny person and during this difficult time when we spoke with her, her positive attitude continued to shine through: "We have found a nice little routine over the past couple of weeks and have found our priorities shifted overnight. Time together has become so valuable, and we hope to communicate that message to as many people as possible throughout our new journey so people can take advantage of what we've come to learn the hard way." As a means of The PIDIM showing Elise support, we would like to share more about their story and a Go Fund Me page set up by Elise's aunt. We ask that you send them positive thoughts of healing, love, and support if possible. Elise is a long-standing professional member who currently holds a position at Red River College and at this time has taken a leave of absence.
